Yes, I know this is sorta NFL talk and I know it has been talked about on this site before.
This is just an update.
Per Adam Shefter via Twitter, Merriman was NOT cut by the Chargers. That mean he cannot choose the team he signs for and will have to pass through waivers.
If the Niners want him right now, they can most likely have him.
Dunno if they should or would....just updating everyone that he's there to be had.

Bottom line, there was a rumor he MIGHT be on the waiver wire and the Niners might be interested. We now KNOW he WILL be on the Waiver Wire and if the Niners want him (as rumored), he's a Niner.

Dont the Bills have a higher waiver claim, and I believe they moved to a 3-4 defense this year

I dont know if we should sighn him. He was cut for a reason and I think that we should not rush him in the starting D if we had to. Plus who's place would he take? Haralson's? Lawson's? If he takes haralson's place then maybe. If he takes lawson's place then hell no!
