Do we have the WORST coaching staff in the NFL ?

I think we have some good coaches...the biggest problem is our head coach. We haven't had a head coach who can tie together offense, defense and ST's. If I was Jed York, I'd hire Parcells, then let him bring in a top GM and head coach. We'd see how much of an impact top leadership could bring...we'll never see that w/Singletary and virtually no GM or visionary leader.
If you ask this in Niner Talk we have the worst

Agree we need much better leadership, from the owner on down. Our defense is actually pretty good...they're put in bad situations too often because the offense is sputtering. Nothing wrong with our WR's...if MJ opens things up, we'll see them make more plays. The OL's obviously key to opening up the offense...when they come together as a group, we'll see the O dramatically improve. As for QB, the same thing applies...Alex can put up good numbers and make plays, he just needs to improve his consistency. He's shown he can get the job done...just needs to play smarter like he did vs Oakland. The playcalling needs to be less predictable...I think MJ's on the right track, but he has to be mindfull of the OL's need to mature.

Amen.

The worst? No. The second or third worst, yes.

Bill Walsh is rolling in his grave that this coaching staff has taken a fairly talented team and made it into a bad football team.
I personally believe that our coaching staff jas done a horrible job preparing the team week in and week out.

Perhaps, but we DEFINITELY have the worst HC in the league, he's just sooo far out of his league it's comedic.

the people on here aren't real fans, they're just losers who could never accomplish anything on the field themselves so they hate on everything the niners do as if they somehow could do better or they know the game better than the coaches. they're sad people, they're probably the ones who yell at little kids that play pop warner football because they didn't execute the game plan the way it was supposed to be ran.

Coaches coach and players play, and when we lose 3/5 games because of turnovers that means the players aren't preforming, but a lot of people here don't get that. they think the coaches are the ones who are turning the ball over...

You have to wonder how many good coaches we have on the staff that are being overruled by that idiot.
"I want to run then ball even when the defense knows we are gonna run the ball."

-Mike Singletary
Its a toss up between us and buffalo
Peyton is an outstanding play caller and Caldwell is an outstanding coach. You don't have to put either one of them down to build up the other. His pick 6 was caused by a great play by the defensive back not by a bad playcall. The Colts run the same plays over and over but they execute them correctly over and over and part of that is talent and part of that is coaching. One of my points is that our players don't execute very well regardless as to who is coaching. Heck, why not admit you're wrong about Caldwell because I have to admit I was wrong about Nolan. Mike Nolan is obviously a good coach because the man has no shortage of teams wanting him since he left the 49ers. I thought Mike Nolan was a bad coach but Nolan had bad players, Nolan certainly had Denver's defense performing better than it was before he got there but then he had some players such as Champ Bailey and others. Just being straight up I think people say illogical things because they are fans and because they have some prejudices. Sometimes winning games has more to do with the overall health of a team than coaching. Based on the logic you use George Siefert was a sorry coach in 1994 with the Superbowl winner. We know Siefert was not the best coach but then he was pretty doggown good.

You said Peyton makes the calls then you turn around and said it was dumb because they passed 3 times in a row, well if Peyton runs the show then wouldn't that make him dumb since he calls the plays? Peyton doesn't coach himself and I find it interesting that you bring up Tom Moore in a positive sense and Caldwell in a negative light even though the Colts won 16 games last year. Basically you don't make logical sense just as those fans of the Colts don't make logical sense. Nobody wins 16 games unless they have a very good team including the front office, coaches, and players. Notice I said players not one player but players. I don't think Alex Smith should be in the league and I think the coaching staff works around his lack of NFL skills and I don't think we have the worst coaching staff in the Nfl. I don't know how you measure that. Coach Singletary has done many things I don't like but then the players make mistakes they should not be making at this point such Gore's fumbling twice and Smith inconsistency, and our offensive lineman not getting leverage sometimes on run plays and the defense playing screens poorly at times. We don't have as much talent as fans think just like the Cowboys don't have as much talent as they think.

Coach Caldwell is very good since he was Peyton Manning's qb coach. Manning is the best in the game now but he was not always that way, just ask Jim Mora, Sr. The Colts passed because the Skins had loaded up on the run and they were playing man-to-man on the outside which is typically when it's good to pass. That game was close because of turnovers and missed field goals not any coaching mistakes. Take your white sheet off.

Colts coach Jim Caldwell is not very good. (Peyton Manning runs the show there and colts have tons of talent). did you see in the sunday night game, colts were running the ball well, 2:40 left in 4th and they passed 3 times in a row, all incomplete. That was dumb, if McNabb had more on that last pass, Skins could have won. Galloway had corner and safety beat on that play.

take off my white sheet? Tom Moore former OC (though he is still on the sidelines with headset on) basically worked with Peyton every play. Caldwell being Mannings QB coach equals whoever was Barry Sanders Running backs coach.

Most Colt fans do not like Caldwell either.

You make very valid points. Yes, Peyton does call the shots on offense, but I did not say he is the best play caller either (example: pick 6 in super bowl). I do not believe Caldwell is the worst coach out there, just noted he is not very good. He reminds me a lot of barry switzer after he took over cowboys in 1994. I do agree, Colts are a great franchise as a whole. top to bottom.
Just about anyone could have won 16 games last year as colts head coach.

Bozo the Switzer still won a Super Bowl. I think Dingletary and his cast of idiots could take over a roster that won the Super Bowl the previous year and have them at 10-6 and one and done and 8-8 in the next year.

That he did, dallas won it in spite of switzer, i remember in a tie game he went for it on 4th and 1 on his own 20 with like 2 min. Did not get and lost the game.
And our coaching is terrible, Marc Trestman could do better, (he currently has Montreal in 1st in CFL, did win Grey Cup too.)
