How about the play calling on that last drive? What was it 40 seconds to go only for a field goal? That's enough time to at least have a decent chance in moving the ball. Didn't another team move it on us just as quick for a FG?
Even the possession prior to that with a little over a minute: we decide to run a draw...come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to watch the games .

We need to tell Sing quick, before the Bronco game.

The problems with the offense are as follows:
1) The playcalling is creative and aggressive on that first drive. Every drive after that seems conservative like Singletary wants to win the game 7-3.
2) Anthony Davis needs to be sitting on the bench with Chilo Rachal. The OLine plays better with Snyder at RG, but still fails because Anthony Davis gets embarrassed at least 20 times a game. Throw in his false starts and holding penalties and we folks have ourselves a brand new sparkling younger version of Kwame Harris with worse run blocking skills.
3) As demonstrated on Sunday, after Smith on the depth chart we have a serious drop in talent at the QB position. Smith wasn't exactly lighting it up to begin with but dear god is David Carr horrible. If Alex Smith can't go on Sunday then the 49ers need to contemplate starting Troy Smith. He looked pretty good in Baltimore before Flacco was drafted. He has chemistry with Ted Ginn which could help stretch out the field and free things up for Crabtree and VD.
4) And just beause the defense pisses me off I will add them into this post as well. The defense is absolutely the worst in the league. They consistently make crappy QB's look like HOF'ers. In any type of pressure situation you can pretty much put your money on the defense not coming through in the end because they suck so bad. Nate Clements needs to go! He is a veteran getting embarrassed by rookies on double moves. Someone needs to teach our DB's to look back for the ball. If they look back for the ball you can take away a few TD passes and add a few INT's to the stats. The defense really needs to go back to a 4-3. Manusky's version of a sissified 3-4 that doesn't get pressure on the QB and is ALWAYS in a weak zone that leaves WR's so open that even David Carr might be able to complete that pass.
Overall the main problems with the team in general is a lack of aggressive play calling on both offense and defense.

All very good points and I agree with all of them except maybe the last one. The D playing in the 3-4 or 4-3 isn't going to change much IMO. The DBs will still get owned way too much and they'll still need to blitz to generate any type of pass rush. Is it worth a shot? Maybe, it couldn't hurt I suppose.
I really agree with #2 on your list. I think this is the most obvious of issues that has been hurting the offense. Regardless of the offense being aggressive or conservative, the team needs blockers that know what the f**k is going on. Far to often this season, the right side of the line has been simply destroyed. Davis and Rachal have got to go, no question. I don't understand how either one can still be a starter. These 2 stink it up every week while decent players rot on the sideline or even on the inactive list.
I'd love to see Staley moved back to RT (where he belongs IMO) and the team start Sims on the left side. In Rachal's place, Snyder could easily step in and I think we'd see a much more COMPETENT O-line.
Sims, Iupati, Baas, Snyder, Staley
After the line is "fixed", then they can address the scheme issues. Alot of people have picked up on the playcalling AFTER the first series. It's almost like Sing says, "OK, we got some points, now lets play it safe". Craptree said it best yesterday after the game, he was quoted as saying something to the effect of "keep your foot on the gas pedal.......You keep scoring till the game is over". He said something really close to that and I think most fans agree.
The defense has already shown, in mutliple games, that they CANNOT hold a 3-7 point lead when it matters. Then why, I ask, does it seem like the team is content to play it safe when they have a 3-7 point lead?
Sing has shown that he simply does NOT understand what the problems are with this team. His "got to look at the film" saying is getting really old. Anybody that follows the team knows what the problem is, AND WE KNOW WITHOUT WATCHING ANY FILM.
Sing has got to go. If he refuses to make the proper changes, then hire somebody that will. Even in the middle of the season, HE HAS GOT TO GO.

Very, very well stated and Iagree 100%.
I think the one silver lining in all of this is that us "fans" have all come together and can pretty muh agree on exactly what is rong with this team. And sadly, many of us DID see this coming and reminded people to be very cautiusly optimistic coming into the season as it appeared we were set up for major excitement or major disappoinment; there was no in-between here. In that regard, I'm proud of all the fans here who remained objective, who DID watch the film and diagnosed all of these problems and who were able to put the Kool-aid down at times despite swimming upsteam. Great job fans...nice to see we still have some class and standards left in this organization!
