A silver lining: This trainwreck is damned entertaining

entertainment is an activity that is diverting and that holds the attention. Although no one enjoys what is going, it is what it is. Its been so bad for so long you cant help but laugh as we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot week after week. What else can you do??

The silver lining in all this is the FUTURE. For all purposes, the team will be purged on the offensive side of the ball + the coaching staff.
I think fans (including the Smith supporters) sense the end is near of the Nolan regime. What I like about Jed is that he seems to be a FAN first, and a businessman second. He feels what the fans are thinking, and Im sure he'll be the first to hand Sing and Sith the pink slip when the season ends.
Time for a new regime in Ninerland. Starts with coaching (hopefully Gruden), and ends with finding the next quarterback to lead this team back to the playoffs.

I want the Niners to win, but this season has been like a soap opera and I always look forward to see what the next game brings... as the world turns.

Its been very soap opera like, unpredictable twists and turns you couldn't make the stuff up that this team has put up with this year. I look forward to the struggles to come and a high draft pick because its obvious we are not a play caliber team. We might as well get a high pick so we can draft the QB we are most sure of.
Quick question, do the Rams win this division??????? I can't believe that this a legitimate question. who woulda thunk it...

I rather see the team win and be damned entertaining. This franchise is just downright embarrassing right now. From the dumbass owner's son guarantee to the unprofessional crap pulled off by the coach to the players quitting, we are a laughing stock right now. I want the 49ers I grew up watching back. The one that won by 40 and was entertaining. Not these imposters who hijacked this once franchise and ran it into the ground.

All the things you mention are not entertaining to me. An annoying interference to NFL entertainment is more accurate IMO.

Exactly. I take the positive out of everything. So when I see Dingleberry screwing our team with his jurassic offensive philosophy, the positive I take out of it is watching this no-nonsense, ultimate billy-badass, warrior coach squirm through his post game press conference.

This thread screams for the creation of another titled "What Will Jed Text Next?"
I'd start one -- but uh -- I'm at 25% for the crime of starting cr@ppy threads so I'd better lay off the sauce for a little while.
SanDiego and SkeetSkeet had some pretty good ideas on the first page of this thread.
As for entertainment? Meh -- perhaps. I suppose you have to take things lightly. I haven't been. Perhaps I just need to take a step back and stop caring so much -- and the humor would come.
Perhaps that is the recipe I need.

Its sad yet entertaining in a very strange way. I'm curious how we are going to screw it up this week. We done everything possible to lose but there has to be something equally pathetic that we will do this weekend against the Raiders. Even the national media is clowning us.
When they started chanting for Carr, I was all for it and truly pissed off at that moment. Then I felt really bad for Smith. Kind of like dumping your girl friend who has been nothing but loyal to you for her sister who is younger and hotter.
