Pay Chucky whatever he wants!!! The next head coach can't be another assistant getting their big break. We need a coach who already has a ring or at least been there before. With stadium funding at risk the niners need to make a big splash to show niner fans and taxpayers that the team is not contempt in being underachievers. Jed paid big money for p willy and Vernon so he showed be will fork over money to win.
Why Gruden? He already took over one talented yet underachieving team and took them to the promised land. If anything he's more familiar in how to handle the niners than anyone else. And come on! His first coaching job in the NFL was with the niners! It's a great story in the making! Being a beach type of guy the only other job I see him taking over the niners would be Miami if they get rid of sparano.

I'm on the Gruden train as well. However, I wouldn't mind Harbaugh getting his break here either.

What has Gruden done? Sometimes I think people are too easily charmed by T.V. personalities.
The guy inherited a team on the cusp of greatness and just finished the job and then proceeded to cause the destruction for the next 7 years by pissing off players in the locker room and people outside the locker room and making poor decisions. He had an affinity for crappy QBs though, which may help him fit in here.
