The guy is a true leader now and dominant on the field.

VD and Willis are the best moves he made.

Justin Smith was pretty good as well.

nolan was a great GM

not that good of a HC

I don't know about him being a great gm, he also signed Jonas Jennings and Nate Clements to stupid contracts.

Stupid contracts, yes ! But he was aggressive in addressing team deficiencies. Before Clements/Lewis came on board, we had one of the wrost secondaries in the league. As a matter of fact, the Niners were know to be a porous secondary since Young's last year in 1998. With the Clements/Lewis signing, it made us semi-good in that aspect of our defense. Jennings was injury prone, but again.....signing him and Larry Allen improved our line.

I just don't see how anyone can say Nolan and yes, even Scott, have been bad GMs. They have not been the best (Scotts absolute miss year) but there's a reason why people predicted this team to win the division 2 out of these last 3 years and even in 2007 after a solid 2006 run. Even at 0-5, everyone is saying that we have a lot of talent but keep shooting ourselves in the foot.

We have been improving every position except for one. This isn't to bash Alex Smith. Until we improve the QB position or Alex Smith plays more consistent on the better end, then everything else will always appear to incomplete or not good enough or...

cant really blame him for clements our D was mediocore and he was a god CB out of buffalo and he ahs played decent for us

and also i think AB mentioned that he hasnt seen a lot of his money in his contractas well

His biggest mistake was taking Smith over Rodgers of course.

Great GM? It was reported that Nolan decided to draft A. Smith because he would not complain about the odd-ball drills he put him through, like hopping on one leg.

I swear I saw that move in Eddie Murphy's "Coming to America"
Worst move we ever made was moving away from the West Coast Offense... We can still bring it back... Mix in some WCO type plays into the current system, then, in the off-season, DUMP the digits crap (and the associated coaches), and install a WCO and coach in full. If Alex has the "brains/smarts" many say, then he could learn the WCO in one off-season. If not, there are plenty of journeymen available who know the system, and could fill the gap while our WCO draft-choice QB comes around... (which shouldn't take long, since it's the most QB-friendly system).
I remember a report saying that Rodgers scoffed at the weird drills that Nolan wanted him to do. But yet Alex did it as he was told. That tells me that Rodgers was assertive and spoke his mind and Alex wasn't thinking but just following orders... the difference between being a leader and a follower...

*sigh*

Lmao. And then Rodgers dropped 22 spots, 21 OTHER teams also passing on him. This Rodgers misery bulls**t you guys put yourselves through is getting to be damn hilarious. 21 teams passed on the guy! He was the 2nd qb chosen for f**ks sake and he was picked 22, other teams must have had a reason to not pick him as well

And yet 21 other teams were wrong.

That's 22 other teams regretting not taking him. The truth of the matter is that if the Rodgers had been drafted by the 49ers he would have failed miserably. He got drafted into a good situation and spent years on the bench learning. With the 49ers he would have been thrown into the fire as a rookie.

Whats up Meth, man u know thats how it' gonna be. s**t some still or just started bringin in HIll, and JTO, and even startin N. Davis, being that a ton of teams passed on him too. And i dont hear a stir, after he's on the practice squad of those trying to grab him up.

Not even makin this about Smith, but damn, cant we at some point stop looking in the past. They're like women that cant get over their last relationship. And this doesnt even matter who's our QB. Could be Troy Smith behind center, but damn, cant we focus on who the hell we got instead of ex players on other teams.

I just say if we like them that much, then are you a niner fan or that persons fan. Dont get it twisted, i like Smith, but s**t, if he still f**kin up, get his ass out too. But until then, cant we let go of what was.

The point is that when our other Niners QB was turning the ball over or not producing like we wanted, a thread titled "Just Turnovers" or "Noodle arm" was created.

God forbid a thread get started with a title flaming Alex Smith because then it's hater ism. That's trolling.

Hind sight is 20/20. I wouldn't be surprised if there were similar instances like that with Peyton manning and Ryan Leaf.
