Vernon Davis is quite possibly the best move McNolan made for us.

The guy is a true leader now and dominant on the field.

Agree
so depressing
Did they say anything about spread Offense this week?
I agree with Matt, I was like 8 years old around the cursed Joe Thomas-GM era of 1977, and I had not heard the Stick that angry since week 4 of the 1977 season against the Falcons. (Also a mediocre/horrible season that opened 0-5, baring tons of hype with that young hot-shot prick Eddie. D, who had just bought the team, ).

Oh God it was horrible, we were edging our 5th straight loss at the Stick; we couldn't convert a single f**king first down against Atlanta, and it felt as if the fans were getting ready to storm the field and kill some people! It was a nightmare trying to get out of the stick that day, really scary times.

VD and Willis are the best moves he made.

I don't know about him being a great gm, he also signed Jonas Jennings and Nate Clements to stupid contracts.

His biggest mistake was taking Smith over Rodgers of course.

Great GM? It was reported that Nolan decided to draft A. Smith because he would not complain about the odd-ball drills he put him through, like hopping on one leg.

You mean hopping on one leg isn't a test in the combine?
