Nah, they're just being PC.

Correct. Anyone who f**ks this up gets on Sing's bad side, no doubt in my mind.

How is Alex giving us the best chance to win? I'm tired of hearing that BS. Alex is giving us the best chance to lose!!! If you think any differently then you don't know s**t about coaching or football...

You're missing the point, brother. Whether or not I or you believe Alex gives us the best chance to win or not is irrelevant. It's what Singletary believes. If he believes Alex gives us the best chance to win—and clearly Singletary WANTS to win—what's selfish about that? Your argument makes no sense. It only makes sense if you believe he DOESN'T want to win. And if you think that Singletary doesn't want to win, clearly you've never watched one of his press conferences and clearly you missed him yelling at Smith on the sideline.
Let Sing bury himself. Every move he makes is another step closer to the 49ers being coached by John Gruden and reinstalling the West Coast Offense.

Smith is the best QB on our team right now. He sucks and would be a backup on every other team in the league, but he is the best QB on our team right now. Singletary needs to win games to keep his job. Since we can still make the playoffs, his decision to keep Smith in there is not selfish.

However, If we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs and he continues to play Smith - the QB who has no future with the 49ers beyond 2010, but gives him the best chance to win for the rest of the season - then he is being selfish because his objective is to keep his job instead of finding out what he has in Nate Davis or possibly Troy Smith.

Singletary thinks there will be a miracle and Alex somehow turns it around after losing 5 games in a row. He thinks he still has a job if Alex manage to win some games this year and be competitive. Trying something new with Carr or Davis could be something that can spark a club, but that would mean he was wrong and be fired at seasons end. Holding on to smith will keep his hopes alive next year to coaching the niners.

Holding on to smith and we lose, lose ,lose....... so he MIGHT have a job next year. very selfish.

Alex has not shown he is a franchise QB since 2006? Why would he turn around and be one now?

Why are so many of you in love with D. Carr? Honestly, why?

Because he is the Alex Smith on another team scenario. He is the Jim Plunket before Alex Smith becomes Jim Plunket.
Yeah, David Carr is SICK. Lets start him.

If you think Carr, Troy Smith or Davis give the Niners a better chance, you should check yourself before you wreck yourself.... crazy pills are bad for your health.

And anyone who argues that a QB that leads the league in turnovers and has yet to win a game is the best option should pay attention to the label b4 proclaiming that A. Smith is while accusing others of being insane... Just sayin...
