As many of you know, I'm more optimistic than most based on what is written in this forum. While I think we will win this weekend and end our losing slide against the Eagles, I also wouldn't be surprised if we lost. But even if we were to lose, I still wouldn't give up on the season. I see a lot of games left to play, and a very beatable field of competition in the division. With that said, I think this weekend we start the run we've all been waiting for us to make, and we begin looking more and more like a playoff team with each passing week. What about you? Go Niners! Edit: For the Sando haters that are down on the team, I'll ask you this, why does Mike Sando have more confidence in this football team than you do? You two must feel good about going toe-for-toe with Atlanta and New Orleans. Do either of you think any other team in the division could do that? The Cardinals got absolutely rocked in Atlanta and they're 2-2 right now. I'd say that taking a glance at our division after the first four weeks is incredibly deceiving.

I don't care about the playoffs. This team does not stack up well against most NFL teams. This team is not championship material. Making it to the playoffs via one of the easiest routes to the playoffs in decades does not change this.

I am much more concerned about who is going to be the next HC. Not if Sing goes 0-0 in the playoffs vs 0-1.......what does it matter

This team doesn't stack up well against most NFL teams? In the last two seasons I remember us stacking up well against the Vikings, Colts, Packers, Falcons, Saints. All of those teams are title contenders and two of them played in the Super Bowl last year.

I've endured the pain and frustration as well. Still, as fans, isn't it better to see the silver lining? I'd feel differently about Smith if the 49ers gave me a call and asked for an audition to take his job. But that isn't happening. I'm a fan and I want to see my team in the best light possible. I've seen that they can compete with the best, and I know that if they stop making the same crucial, game-losing mistakes, things will change for the better.

I'm happy for our performances against ATL and NO. But at the end of the day it's all about WINS and LOSSES. I don't care if we just lost to the '72 Dolphins, '84 Niners, '85 Bears and the '89 Niners... We're still 0-4. Sorry if I don't get my jollies off to moral victories...
