Optimism perhaps, The 1 loss being to the Saints, I don't think I was being too off was I? I just think THIS TEAM ISN'T MENTALLY "THERE" YET & I wanted to explore the reasons as to why?

1-3 at least.. Remember, this team CANNOT win on the ROAD, OR against outter divisional opponents. Sad really. I was hoping for at LEAST 1-3!

True, this team can't win on the road & that has been a killer for some time now. That's mental IMHO.
I will go with 2-2 we were only outplayed twice, Seattle and Kansas City, and I dnt even know if I would call that being outplayed, we were in it against New Orleans and Atlanta so.......... we are bound to win this sunday in San Fran

Many, many, many games are lost in the NFL by stupid mistakes. Part of the reason why Walsh was successful was because he filled his roster with intelligent players who rarely made game-killing mistakes. I can remember us playing the Saints. They had big, daunting athletes, but you could almost count on them doing something stupid that would cost them the game.

Sound familiar?

Been saying it all offseason.. 7-9 wins the NFC west.

BTW very offtopic, why is it that the seahaws are making roster moves weekly, the vikings traded for randy moss.. We obviously need secondary help but don't do anything?

Physically were talented, but talent alone doesn't make contenders. It's the mental aspect of their game I question. Throughout these 5 weeks of WTF, they all said pretty much the same thing: "We failed to execute" or "We beat ourselves"...etc...etc. Ok fine...."WHY DO WE BEAT OURSELVES?!?!" In the 4 games that they played...we've seen mental errors everywhere. WTF!?!?!?!?!! We fans had to witness: Veteran players make rookie mistakes, rookies get grossly exploited....& now some have SEEMINGLY started to point fingers & place blame. I know we are one of the youngest team in the NFL if not the youngest. But do we gotta act like it? Maybe were are pressing too hard & OVER THINKING THINGS & OVER PLAYING. Maybe one win will change the coarse of our season. But it's on them. ALL OF THEM!

Again the same somebody screwed up somewhere. Our boy Frank Gore's "Fumbleitus" returned for example...This whole DAMN TEAM IS ISN'T READY.

But now being 0-5....this team is gonna press even harder.

Not securing the ball was where he royally effed up.

Execept that if Nate scored ATL would have been down 8 with 3 timeouts and the ball. He falls, we get a first down, game is over.

There was NONE excuse for that.
