Why did Alex throw that INT before half? If he hadn't, we could have had another 3 or 7 and the Falcons might not have even been in the game in the 2nd half.

You can't pick the final drive and say that's the reason we lost and totally ignore all the other opportunities that the offense (Alex) wasted.

I didn't get to see the game so let me ask you this.

Why didn't the coachs play it safe and call a run play in that situation or did Alex call an audible???

I agree. I said Alex sucked, so did our offense. If the entirety of the offensive failures falls on Smith's shoulders, ok. He sucked and should be benched.

Niners lost this game in the final two minutes, not in the first 58. If the Defense can't get a stop on a 3rd and 15, when can they get one? What the hell is so hard to understand here? I'm putting the loss on the defense, but that doesn't mean Alex shouldn't get the blame for the first 58 minutes. It was his fault it was so close, but the defense should still be able to get us the win regardless of Alex especially when we're up with 2 minutes remaining.

We were at about the Falcons 40 and it was 1st down so we still needed at least another first down to get an easy FG. Passing was fine in that situation, it was just a bonehead play by Smith.

Smith is the reason we lost, period. His ineptitude throughout the game is why the game was close and why the Falcons had so many scoring opportunities. How anyone can blame the D based on this is mind boggling. Just b/c they happened to score on us to take the lead at the end doesn't discount that.

At one point at the beginning of the game, Alex was 7 0f 7 and a TD then the Atlanta coachs started making adjustments and our STUPID coachs never seem to be able to match...

I'm not saying Alex doesn't make some mistakes in the games, but a lot of those are because the opposing coachs prepare their players. Heck, our defense forced a couple of errors also , but our coachs never seem to be able to take advantage of them.

Definitely. Dude just makes one mistake and goes down the toilet, lol. I'm pretty much done with him, but if we win against the Eagles he has to go on a win streak here (Eagles, @Carolina, Raiders, Denver) for me to want him as our QB. Otherwise put in Nate Davis already.

I kind of wish we'd go to the spread almost exclusively. Gore was getting some nice runs in there, almost 5 - 6 yards per in the spread. Why not try to build around Smith, at least for one game? I don't see the harm in it, lol
