Even in a worst case scenario, I'd sure like to think we would do better than that, but with 0-4 or even 0-5 looking quite possible (or maybe 1-4 at best), do you think it's possible history repeats and we are in for THAT bad of a season?

no, the difference is, we have TALENT now! Its just a matter of execution I just sounded like dinglebary

LOL Our past records have no impact over current events.
Honestly, if that happens... and I don't think it will... but if it does happen, I think I'm going to take a long break from the NFL. As 49er fans, we were supposed to finally see the payoff this season for putting up with all of the losing seasons and rebuilding. Witnessing an outright collapse would be too much, there are too many things in life to spend much more time dedicated to this crap... should it continue.
sweet.

well if that's worst case then we get a new coaching staff and a new QB, I like Smith but wouldn't mind Luck one bit...except for the contract he would get...come on rookie cap!!!!
I sure hope not... Worse case Scenario, I am thinking that we win at least 6 games. Our defense will win a game or two for us by themselves (i.e. Chicago and Arizona 2009). Smith will likely show up for a game or two and win as well...
No QB that comes out in the draft next year is gonna be good. BOOK IT

We have a young QB to develop already in Nate Davis and he is hell of a lot cheaper too.

We need to bring in a veteran QB(not sure who will be available though) no more rookie QBs

They don't impact them, but they do help predict them. I'm sure if we went to another SB, people would use the fact that we are 5-0 in the SB to say we should likely win. Similarly, our past failures can provide an indicator of what is most likely to happen if we end up in a comprable negative situation.

Neither makes the outcome a given, it's just how we have fared in the same situation previously.

It's early to predict, and historically I'm no Vick fan, but if he keeps playing at this level, what do you think the odds are that he hits the market as a FA, looking for a bigger payday than Philly will give him with Kolb waiting in the wings?

Other than that, I can't think of any high level QBs likely to be available in 2011.

Though I think McNabb is technically a FA, but with what they gave up for him, Washington will probably find a way to retain him. Other than that it's only Kyle Orton and Matt Moore I believe.

Maybe a trade?

If Vick keeps playing good he will get paid to stay in Philly.

"and with the first pick in the 2011 draft, the San Francisco 49ers select...."
