I knew he was a complete idiot from day one. Fiery motivational speeches don't produce efficient on the field X's and O's production. I don't think the guy even has a gameplan week to week.
Yorks - Hire idiots.
Sing - That explains sing. He hires more idiots below him.
Raye - That explains Raye.
And the cycle of SUCK continues. That's how it works.

I've never liked the hiring. From the day York Jr. came out and said Singletary is not interim anymore and our season will never end in December again I knew this was headed towards disaster. This is a guy who saw Mike Nolan as his protege and wanted to play 1930's three yards and cloud of dust football in a passing league. But every fool the Yorks hire gives the WZ a boner. Just 3 years ago almost everyone on here was "rollin with Nolan" and thought every word of that man's mouth was gospel.

U know what hurts the most SanDiego,.....we have the personnel to have an explosive offense. But they keep forcing the team to play against their strengths instead of utilizing them.

I think all the good kool aid is gone. Now we are down to the Singleberry flavor. Sour and way past its expiration date. Nobody wants to drink it any more.

There is more talent on this team than 0 - 3. With the right guiding hand this club would be 2 - 1 at least. I think Harbaugh would have them that good at least. He would play to the strenghts and not get out done on X's and O's. Nobody outdoes Harbaugh on coaching, preperation and X's and O's. His teams are always more prepared than their opponents. But we have the opposite.
IMO we have a structural and organization problem here. This is much, much deeper than the overly simplistic answer of Alex Smith (although he may not be the long term answer). And it's deeper than Sing too. It goes all the way to the top. The very top.

I still like sing but a head coach is only as good as his coordinators. There a plenty of coaches that don't call plays. Let's hope MJ boosts this offense.

On Smith...we all seen the Saints....their is something to salvage in him. I'll admit that he may only thrive is a spread, but doesn't alot of the team play well in one as well. If memory serves: Crabz, Morgan, VD, Staley & a few other come from a spread. This will also benefit Gore since he won't have to run into an 8 man box. That why I'm upbeat about Johnson. On paper his offense seems to be TAYLOR MADE for or players.

I originally didn't like it, but when he had the team playing like it did, I thought that he was onto something.
Now? Not so much. I've realised that for sustainable winning, you need a football strategist over a motivator.
So to answer your question, I took a sip, followed by huge gulps. Now i'm sick of it.

Yep. Just like I drank the kool-aide on Nolan. Might be time to admit I have a problem and seek a ten step program. Please, football gods, give us a win on Sunday!

What makes me nervous about the Johnson promotion is that it is eerily similar to what happened in the Hostler promotion. Recall that the reason Nolan gave for promoting Hostler, the QB coach, to OC is because Hostler prepared gameplans of his own each week, so he knew how to do it. We saw how that turned out.
In the case of Johnson, we were told he is qualified to be OC because he prepares his own gameplans each week. Sound familiar.
Contrast the above with the teams who hire proven, successful OCs. We keep trying out unproven people, and then when they disappoint, act surprised.
