That is a very depressing graphic.

It's a joke that it took this long to fire Jimmy Raye.
I'm happy but still concerned about the future of this organization.

WOW! Only took me 3 hours to read all of the posts after finding out that Raye got fired!!!!
Good news; however, I am with several other posters here who feels we need an entire front office/coaching staff overhaul.
Singletary is a good guy, but a very inexperienced coach. Bad move by Jed, I think it was an emotional move. Jed's first move should have been to go out and get an established GM. I may get flamed for this, but I think the 49ers should strongly consider Casserly for our GM position. Let him mentor Balke. Casserly has at least had success in this league as a GM (Eric Winston, Dunta Robinson, Owen Daniels... Andre Johnson... DeMeco Ryans, David Anderson, and Mario Williams to name just a few). I like the potential of Balke, but I want someone to help guide him along and not just give him the team.
Next you interview as many HC candidates as you can. My picks are Gruden, Harbaugh, and as much as I want an offensive you have to give an interview with Leslie Frazier, DC for the Vikings. Look at ALL of the possibilities.
As much as I like Alex Smith and still feel that he could have been a good QB if he was developed correctly, he has to go! He is damaged goods, just like David Carr.
So, to sum it all up. This is good news to start the rest of our rebuilding season, but ultimately I think we need to part ways with Singletary, he just wasn't ready to be a HC in this league.

Before I heard the news I was dreading the game Sunday . . . now I'm at least curious and able to hold on to my last shred of optimism for another week.

More convinced than ever this team is run by a bunch of f**king idiots.
Fire your OC after 3 games? Holy s**t. We are officially the worst team in the NFL.

There really was no other choice. Singletary made his bed though. A lot of these problems is the result of his own hubris.....him drinking his own kool-aid and thinking that "smashmouth" was all it was going to take.
He's too inexperienced to understand that the pro game is way more cerebral and detail oriented now. Why? Because the delta between the most talented team in the NFL and the least talented team in the league is really tiny. This is the age of parity and the true differentiator between winners and losers is strategy and game planning.
