If we're at least 4-4 before our bye...we're golden.

Our cupcake 2nd half should easily get us nine wins. Ten is not out of the question. All we have to do is hit .500 at the mid-point.

I just don't see the Falcons game as a win , I would love to see it. It all comes down to mistakes and turnovers and those are unpredictable with this team so far.

Remember they lost to Pittsburgh with Dixon at QB. They have not shown consistency yet to be considered an elite team. But the only way we win this game is by winning on Sunday and getting some momentum for these East Coast 1pm (10am) games. So we either start 2-2 or 0-4 and that's determined next week in a very load stadium.
Well of course they showed heart facing New Orleans...

1. The 49ers were playing at home
2. Jerry Rice
3. Loud ass f**kin fans

If the Niners can keep showing that heart even at AWAY games, THEN I will believe we can win the next 5...

There is some sad truth behind this. I -- for one -- am hoping that the kid finally turned the corner.

But you also have a very good point. Just when you think he gets it -- 49er fans get the shaft.

Totally on board. Even if we win 4/5 we'll probably be in first place in the west by the bye week
Here's two very important things to look at that we have NEVER shown early in the season:

1. Our defensive stats are comparable to the top defenses in the league: in prior years, our defense never begins to "lock" things down in terms of yardage until the second half of the season when one or two key personnel adjustments have been made by coaches. This year, we have already kept all QBs and RBs that we have played under the standard yardage allowed.

2. Our offense has not had this type of game this early on in the season: again, in prior years, the offense doesn't ever turn it on until halfway through the year when there has been a QB change or philosophy change.

I will add on one more thing: we just played the Superbowl winning team and on top of that, it's a team that lights up the scoreboard against most teams! Any other year and this game turns out 35 to 14 against us.

We will beat the better teams this year. I still want to put a s**t load of emphasis on that the M. Rob to SEA had a lot of influence on how SEA played Game 1. That and no wristband.

Let's say we run into some more "bad luck". All we need to do is be breathing after these first 5 or 6 games.

Don't forget that they did let the Saints drive down the field for a field goal at the end. The defense is suppose to be our strength but they let us down when it counted the most. If they would of stopped them we probably would of won the game.
Fact: This team lost most of last seasons games and both games this year because of huge mistakes on the field and coaching blunders. Until that changes I see no reason for optimism. It doesn't matter how much talent they have or how good Smith played or how good the defense is when you shoot yourself in the foot week after week. How can anyone predict 5 wins?
Chiefs might be a cinderella team.
Don't count them as an automatic.

Falcons had our number last year.

The Eagles.......I dunno.

No Mcnabb or Westbrook.......Dunno.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there my friend. That was the case in 05 and 06, but not last year. He played well last year, and after the texans game, he played another good game against the colts, then again against the packers...

I share your fear though, dont want you to think i'm bashing you or anything...

Give them a break noob! They are a great overall defense and played well against one of the top 4 offenses last year. If it weren't for them it wouldn't have even been a close game against the Saints. If the f**king offense wouldn't have caused 4 turnovers and 1 on special teams, they wouldn't have had to be on the field as long and probably wouldn't have been out of breath.

I think we can win 4 of the next 6 games, but not the next 5 in a row
