reflecting on it further, it would have been an interesting idea if we had all three timeouts. without them, we couldn't have had a chance at getting the ball back if we didn't recover the kick.
with 3 timeouts i think it would have been worth the thought, but the way our D was playing, i think a regular kick was still the "right call."
but lets face it: if we had done it and recovered it and won the game without letting Brees touch it again, everyone dismissing this idea would be praising Singletary for being a ballsy genius.
