No it doesn't. The team can conceivably start the season 1-4 because of a tough schedule, but win 8 of the last 11 games to earn a 9-7 record and win the division.

Look no further than last years Tennessee Titans who started last season 0-6 but won 8 of their last 10 games.

with a 2000 yd rusher, who was solely gameplanned against and remained unstoppable.

Actually it was the leadership of Vince Young that made the difference. Regardless, the Niners have the talent and character to overcome a disappointing start. Fans need to give them the entire season to try to end the 7 season playoff drought.

How many 1-4 or 0-5 teams make the play-offs? That is what it looks like to me.

we could be one of the few or the first.

0-4 before eagles/4-0 going into the bye. we have a very soft schedule after the bye. 6 of 8 is very doable, making us 10-6 at the end of the season.

link? Two teams the last ten years have started 0-2 and won the Super Bowl. The Pats first one, and the Giants with E. Manning. Boomer just said so on his 2 minute drill on ESPN News.

Nearly the same stat was on the segment on NFL network. 13% of teams that start 0-2 make the playoffs.

don't be. they seem like they're going in that direction. it's too early to tell, but after week one, chiefs/falcons don't seem as easy as i thought at the beginning of the season. saints on monday (huge task).

but then - eagles/raiders at home, at panthers (doable), broncos at home... we should be at least 4-4 by the bye week.

after the bye - rams/buccs, @ zona, @ pack, seacrap (revenge), @ chargers, @ lambchops, turdinals. i can see us winning all except packers/chargers. that's still 10-6.

it might not go in that order but we could just as well sneak a win here or there to the tough teams as we could lose to the bad teams.
I agree. 10 wins will win this division.
History is written every season. Because something hasn't been done before doesn't mean it can't be accomplished.

FYI the Broncos game is in London

But it makes it a hulluva lot less likely.

It can also be a "hellvua" lot more fulfilling.

They way we played at Seattle there is no such thing as a soft opponent.

Except we're already 0-1 in the division, losing to what most thought was maybe the third best team in the NFC West.

We were overrated for a variety of factors. The media was mostly blind to how poor our coaching staff is. Now they are cluing into that.

The the 0-2 stat is misleading, and none of it is favorable for us. You basically had a few situations in the past (take Dallas in 1993 with Emmitt Smith's holdout) where excellent teams had injuries, holdouts, or a really tough schedule early and started out 0-2. Since they were excellent teams, they were able to recover from the slow start and make the playoffs. These cases were few and far between. Most teams that start out 0-2 just suck balls, and 88% of the time they don't make the playoffs.
its not the end of the world if we go o-2 its a game teams lose and teams win 49ers are just like the cowboys jets cots even the freakin faders its game we might not have football with a lockout looming so enjoy the game well u can
