How long before Smith loses the locker room?

What the hell was Smith supposed to learn while injured? That would be a valid point if we had the same coordinator every year. He spent every off season UNlearning the previous year and learning something new. How is that making the most of your time on the bench?

Z you seem to just hate facts that don't coincide with your distorted and disturbing personal feelings. It's borderline creepy to be honest.

Golly jeepers. Well by all means we should all be Pro QB's by now! I mean, how long have we had to watch the likes of Young, Montana, and now the Mannings and Brady's of today. I mean, who needs practice? Who needs the strength or ability to even throw a football? I mean, what a lame excuse for the inability to improve your chemistry and delivery and all the other physical things NFL players do.

I want Smith to succeed and think he played one of his most complete games on Monday (second only to @ Seattle last year and @ Arizona back in the '06 opener -- yes that far back, his 17th career start).

But if he lays an egg today in KC, and I don't give a rats ass for what reason, he's gotta be very close to losing the locker room and being benched. There's no room for error for this guy. He has to put together 3-4 good games IN A ROW before the microscope will be removed.

We better be ready to play on offense. I do not want to see us go 3 and out early and let them get the momentum at home.

The locker room might give a rats ass, though. They have a better idea of who is at fault than us fans do.

You would have every right to think he should be benched, but do you think Carr or the other Smith would be any better?

Smith will only lose the locker room if the rest of the team is playing light's out and Smith finds a way to lose the game every week. If he continues to play light he did Monday...Sing/Raye will lose the locker room before Smith does.

Let's get back on topic without the personal comments, please.

I have to believe that many players already have lost faith in him. They are just good at showing a united front.

I am not a Smith apologist or hater. I just want Winners! And I don't care who it is.

While yes, Smith has had many hardships, no QB has ever been given this much time to develop. Many players face injuries at bad times and they loose their spots to healthy players who step up. See Montana - Young, See Rice - Owens. Neither of those guys would have left if we hadn't had other players to take their spot who were out performing them.

To me you do what the rest of the league does, make him a backup. If your holding out hope, keep bringing in FA or draft picks to compete. When someone gets hurt, Smith gets an opportunity to shine if not he works his way down to 3rd string and is eventually out of football. It's called competition.

It's a business and when it has come to Smith, it feels like emotion is getting in the way because they like him too much. May the best QB win!
