1) Thread title is misleading. It ought to be : "Vote For Your Favorite 49ers COLOR COMMENTATOR" (By using "Announcer" you set yourself up for people coming in with their own candidates which will invariably be PLAY-BY-PLAY announcers (Starkey, Ted Robinson, etc.) which is altogether different from a color commentator.
2) It's not really fair to compare Eric Davis and Gary Plummer. Davis only does the 49ers preseason games on local television. Gary Plummer does all 49ers games on radio.
With that being said, Plummer is light-years ahead of Eric Davis.
^ I repeat this AGAIN.
With the 2 CHOICES in this poll, the thread title should be changed. Davis and Plummer are both COLOR COMMENTATORS, and the title should reflect this.
People who are coming in with their own candidates of Starkey, Simmons, etc. would have been stopped dead in their tracks if the thread was properly titled.
Color commentator/ color analyst/ colorcaster : "an announcer, esp. in sports, who provides supplementary information or comment. Usually a former player or coach who adds 'color' to a broadcast through anectdotes, etc."

LMAO I caught that as well. But I do prefer the 49ers Eric Davis or Plummer. He knows his football and he's not a homer.
