The niners have been very fortunate this year. Most teams would be overjoyed just to have a guy like Iupati in one draft but this accumulation of talent is a bit more then miraculous. Anthony Dixon by himself would make a good draft. I think we are going to see the corners really develop and all the whining about dbs vanish. I really think were the niners to get Bruce Davis and Tukuafu on the regular squad they would have enough firepower to go head to head with anyone. From what I saw, I think Davis and Tukuafu are better then Briggs talent wise. I can't see how they could get all of them on the squad but they would have a killer team because they could rotate guys in all day. I hope the niners have contingency plans because I think Davis and Tukuafu could be early targets. I think many teams have lessor talents at linebacker then those two. If Bruce Davis were around from day one Briggs may be on the practice squad. Tukuafu really impresses me even more then Ray Macdonald and much more then Demetric Evans. I like Ray Macdonald but as a pass rusher I think Tukuafu is better. One bad thing about a lot of talent is there is little dead wood to change out. All the cuts hurt.

I think that the Robinson dismissal was also a turning point. Coach is dead serious about the talent issue and this sends a message to go all-out, every play, because even locker-room favorites will be cut.

Here's a thot: cards just released leinart, after 3 uneventful yrs of going nowhere. And he had a heckuva role model to follow while on the bench. But here's the deal. We drafted and acquired 9 guys who all made the team, and a bunch are going to see serious PT this yr. True, we dropped kentwan, but he was a mistake, a #1 mistake. But we've moved on, had to cut some guys that were really talented(Tuku for sure), a WR, and another several . Point is this team not only has some players, we have for the first time in 8 yrs some serious depth. RB---frank, AD, westbrook. WRs---whew, it appears with Ziggy and Morgan, we are loaded there. Ok, Hill was a poor choice, but we moved on. TE? loaded. OL? How would YOU like to run behind AD, poti, staley? Man i would. ST? Neds and Andy. Coverage has been improving over the yrs and i bet is better this yr again. D? Sure, we got toasted at DB, but our NT never dressed out, and we got an all pro in p-52, and he has some help, serious help for a change. If our D philosophy could change to "if you can't cover, blitz", we would have one bodacious D on the field. Cutting balmer helps, and so does adding a rook like Bowman, who i saw maybe twice last yr. He's good....really good. Soap finally seemed to "get it" last yr, and looks ready for 2010. Manny is in fine form, and many preseason games i saw 5, 6, sometimes 7 guys on LOS, with some really fine blitzing. DBs are a weakness, yes, but let's first get our entire first string out there and see what our DBs do. Mays? AD &AD, Bowman, Ginn, poti...wow! Picking us to win West is not because our competiton is weak(okay, it really is). But we got picked because we got talent, and a big part of that is due to baalke. Right guy in the right place at the right time. Also, morgan and Zeig got a yr to mature, figure it out, and we should have a heckuva O.

Whether fortunate or not, we get a big test immediately, and that can be good , or it can be bad... but still instructive. If we play these guys even, W or L, it will be a huge psychologic boost to our guys. Worst outcome? bigmike goes into a shell of "play not to lose"...and we will....lose, that is. My expectation is that their HC is a lot better than ours, but we can be very competitive. Really, as first game of yr, i just want to see our guys stay in it, play well, not get rattled, and play hard. What QB wouldn't want to look up and see vernon, AD, poti, crabs, morgan, the other AD, staley, frank, and westbrook? That is a load...even for the best teams in the league. And then there is our D, led by p52. As the title says, "We have arrived".

post script: somehow i forgot we didn't open with SEA(in SEA), who we will go in and crush. My post above was thinking about the NO game. In the SEA game our coaching staff is superior to theirs. In NO, i will have to be persuaded re: coaching staff, in that i think theirs is best in the league.

Someone mentioned picking up Leinart. Are you kidding??????? That guy was a waste of a pick for the cards. We want winners with skills not losers whom never aquired the skills after having a great! Teacher as Warner. Bottom line, Leinart S*cks!!!!! Always has and always will!!!!! As for our 2010 draft class; it was an excellent draft class. Dixon is a beast!!! Can't wait for Kyle Williams to return. It is true how now players from around the league want to come and join the Red and Gold. They see a movement, they see the hunger to win in San Francisco, the plan has been laid out and it's time to execute. A new era has begun and just like in the 80's it's time to shine and show what a world class organization is all about. I hate the cowboys and eventhough I see the niners winning our Six ring by 2012/13. I have to say it would be sweet to reach in to the Cowboys chest and pull out their bleeeeeeeeeedddddddiiiiinnnngggng heart as we get crowned in their own stadium in 2010. To let the so called beast in the east understand that they can't mess with the Best from the West!!!! Maaaannnnn!!!!!!! That would be Ammmaaazzzziiinnnggg!!!!!!
