Can't believe Jason Hill and Michael Robinson gone.

I think both will land on an NFL roster somewhere. It is a good sign that we have the depth to release them.

although I'm a huge Hill fan... I agree here.....I like what I'm seeing from Ginn and I hope he gets alot of playing time opposite of Crabtree. He has also impressed me with his blocking ability, I did not think he could block to be honest. (good example is Dixon's TD yesterday) So if shows consistent hands, he needs to be out there as much as possible.

The main reason I wanted Hill to get as much play as possible was because of his speed, along with with his route running and hands. But since we have Ginn, and Zeigler has shown he can catch almost everything...that is good depth to have.

the only problem is, if we did go back to the spread, Ginn would be the only WR with speed threat we would have.....and then that means if teams play man to man on us, Alex is going to have to be accurate because our receivers will not always get much separation (besides Crabtree to an extent with his route running and if Williams stays healthy).

Tukuafu is not on the team, if I'm reading this correctly.....wait can anyone read your post correctly??
I know everybody got the news about it yesterday but I was surprised that we didn't retain at least one of these guys. Tukuafu had knack for making big plays in the preseason games he played in. I found that pretty surprising because they signed him right around the time Balmer went AWOL. Mitchell was a holdover from last year's practice squad and I always liked his size and his ability to collapse the pocket. I saw both of these guys look way more productive than Demetric Evans who ended up making the roster. I assume they will try to keep one of these guys on the practice squad for insurance but I won't be surprised if another team picks them up.
who cares.. we got a playoff team
I really liked how Will Tukuafu looked, but reality is he will be around for the PS. I'm not a fan of Evans, hope we draft a DE in the first 3 rounds next year.

LOL .... You should search his posts Kolohe, theres some gems
Tukuafu was released because he is a fairly one-dimensional player. He's mainly a guy you'd see on pass-rushing downs. Evans is a guy who plays the run very well and has a little bit of pass-rush ability. Not a lot, but some. He's also an experience vet, and I don't disagree with them keeping him over Tukuafu.

Ray McDonald is also a better player than Tuku.

Mitchell is the perfect PS candidate. NT/DE Tweener who can develop and compete for a role next year, or even be called up if needed this year. He's a solid depth guy who isn't quite there yet to make the final cut.
OTC, not too many yrs ago, Tuku would have been a lock for a starter on this team. To cut a guy like that is an indication of where the 49ers are at present. From 2002 til last 2 yrs, most of our starters couldn't have made most squad's PS. Times have changed...thank goodness.
I see these two guys as future competition/replacements for Evans and McDonald.
Just to add to what OTC said, both held little value on the 53 because Mcdonald was the pass rush lineman and Soap and Ricky Jean had versatility to play multiple positions, so for a 3-4 defense, that made it unnecessary to keep more DL. I'm sure Mitchell or Tuk, will be on the PS though
Come on guys.. We must keep Tukuafu is better than Evans.. Sings should cut Evans and Jarret Brown.. Oh my gosh!! Sings can have fours Qb for us.. what the big idiots that have fours QB? Sing is very stupid mofo!

Dude....great point. Same thing goes for Bruce Davis; nice young talent that demonstrated very good pass rush skills in pre-season games, but can't make it on this roster because of the depth at OLB.
