Loved reading about this competition and the energy it brought to the team. Also interesting to read that Gore generally go the better of what may be the best middle linebacker in the game. He's clearly a dangerous receiver as we all know and not just because he has good hands. These two have to be thought of as the respective leaders of their units. They seem to be most in line with the Singletary persona and definitely have the production to back it up. The one thing they've not shown up to this point is a vocal leadership with their teammates. Obviously, this exchange was noteworthy enough for most of the major beat writers to address it and for Singletary to address it in the post practice presser. This team needs to be a little more bada$$, especially on the defensive side. They need to play with a swagger and it has to come from their best players. I believe Gore is the most talented 49er running back ever. I find it funny how he now shares the back field with #33 and #20, who I consider are the numbers of the 2nd and 3d best 49 running backs ever, Roger Craig and Garrison Hearst. Although they should switch Jerseys because Dixon is a stiff arming brute much like Garrison and Westbrook is the ultimate dual threat, pass catching perfect back a la the Great Mr. Craig himself. Having all 3 in our backfield now, (or a version of them) I still think Frank is #1. He has everything Garrison/Dixon had/has and he is very much the pass catching, nifty 3d down option craig/westbrook was/is. I Love Frank Gore. And I am happy He is our man now. He will be the key to our era's Suberbowl! Life is good in 49er Land!
