I think we have to retire their numbers!

Balmer, probably yes. Coffee, no.
I think I'd rather see alot of people who post on here go, before I see Coffee go.
I do respect him though in that he did this before it got farther into the pre-season
and left the 49ers with less options to replace him.

i'm not happy about it, i'm more ambivalent. they were guys that I wasn't counting on big things from, or really excited to see them play, though they were guys that I was kind of hoping would contribute. if they don't want to be here, good, it opens up roster spots for guys who do. but i wouldn't say that makes me happy.

Coffee should have pulled this before the draft. But I guess now is somewhat better than two days before the opening game of the regular season.

I'm happy to see them go. If they don't wanna be here, then GTFO.

Balmer and Coffee are two different situations. Its not fair to lump them together.
Balmer is more of a disappointment because he is just trying to leech off the team for a paycheck.
I admire Coffee. I realize I'm in the minority. But I think those who hate on Coffee just feel burned more than anything. Its just emotional thinking rather than reason.
If Glen Coffee truly didn't want to play football...then I'm happy for him. He is a man, made a man's decision, didn't do it through the media and met with Sing face-to-face as a man and told him.
Whether you agree with Coffee's decision or not is irrelevant. He made the best decision for him. He very well could've waited until week 8, which would of left us high and dry for a backup RB. Now we have a ton of options.
Balmer, I think you can hate on. Balmer is just aloof. Not so much with Coffee. Glen manned up, made a decision and moved on. I can't hate on that. Sorry.

I am generally unhappy with any loss of depth during TC.

I agree to the same unhappy feeling at losing depth ------ I'll feel better if their replacements are equal to or better.
