Has your Optimism of the upcoming 2010 season subsided at all?

Just want to get a gauge on where everyone is at in regards to your Optimisim (or Pessimism) for the upcoming season. We all know things happen in camp, like injuries, players stepping it up, or not.

The general concensus at the start of camp seemed to be that we all were very pumped, and optimistic that we were going to dominate the division and make the playoffs.

Just want to find out if we're still on that same page of thinking..because it seems like alot of the excitement on the board has subsided in light of the injuries, A. Smith being cited as having just a "so-so" camp so far... Kentwan's mysterious absence, Jerry's Speech (ok just kidding) etc. among other things.

Lets get an idea of where the general concensus stands now...

Yes! Alex Smith had one bad practice so were going 0-16

Sweet! #1 draft pick!

This is nothing that the other 31 teams arent going through.

You're joking, right? How many other teams have had 2 players up and QUIT?

It happens more than you think, it may not be higher picks like with happened with us but this s**t happens.

I still dont get what the big deal is. These dudes were backups, they can be replaced

Maybe on the team, but not in our hearts.

lol
I still think we win the division this year.Camp has probably tempered my expectations down to 9-7 instead if 10-6.

It sucks some of the things that have happened this offseason, the injuries to Heitman and Brooks (I'll feel better if it turns out to not be a serious things upon the reevaluation) and Balmer and Coffee going AWOL but I feel like the other teams in our division have too many question marks to make a serious challenge this year.
Still very optimistic
in all honesty, my optimism hasn't changed at all. Think about what we've lost. All backups that never really contributed. Most of which can be replaced by rookies we drafted. With the exception of Staley of course. That's the one injury that hurt but he should be back by week 2-3.

phew, i was scared for a minute
-To be honest, I don't care about the Coffee situation. I liked him, but it shouldn't effect the team that much.

-The Crabtree injury seems pretty benign.

-I don't know much about the Brooks injury. This could have some negative consequences when the season starts, but it shouldn't be too significant.

-The Heitman injury has me VERY worried. Lets just hope he will be ready for the Monday night game.

With all that said, I don't see many things that all the other 31 teams are not dealing with.
Forgot about the Brooks injury. But he should be back before week 1, so it's no biggie. He has one job, rush the passer. No need for TC. Dudes got the natural ability to do that.
Wasted money, wasted time, and lack of depth...

Wasted 2000th post...
not yet. still pumped!
I try to be realistic. See how it goes. Injuries, players not playing up to their capabilities. There are so many variables. I would like to see Smith take charge of the offense. I don't know if he has that kind of personality. Also week to week, depending on the opponent.
