I hate to hear any 49er player get injured or hurt because I believe everyone has their role, Baas has been up and down since he's been with us at Left Guard. Even if Iupati took the starting role, Baas would be a decent backup with experience. Oh well, I guess this is the whole, "everything happens for a reason" cliche...

Iupati was meant to be our man at LG.

Agree! No surprise on the Baas injury. He's always hurt. Hopefully its not too bad. Concussions and linemen don't mix.

Baas just seems to be snakebitten...if something can go wrong, it does. But, let's face it, there was good reason they only signed him for 1 year...as insurance. The LG position is Iupati's to lose...but I don't see that happening. Big Mike should be the starter...and if the 1st practice in pads is any indication, he could be a huge upgrade there. The thought of he and Staley side-by-side sounds great...and could provide Gore, Coffee and Dixon some big holes. Throw in Miller and maybe Norris to lead them into the holes and we've got the makings of the potent running attack Coach wants so badly.

Hate to hear any of our guys is hurt BUT it just reaffirms my belief that we made excellent draft choices w/Olinemen at #1 & 2.

I believe that is the way you say it. I think fly15 originally was saying that it's spelled with an I not a L. We went into the pronounciation of the name which was kind of funny.
