Finally understand: the 49ers are practicing in misty, 50-degree weather to prepare for the opener in Seattle.

Makes a lot of sense since it's almost 90 and not a cloud in the sky today.

Weather for Monterey, CA
- Add to iGoogle
57°F | °C
Current: Cloudy
Wind: W at 9 mph
Humidity: 72%

probably referring to the weather in Seattle right now I'm guessing - it's beautiful in the PNW right now. Barrows is way off here; the season opener will probably be gorgeous in Seattle, about 75 and not a cloud in the sky. September is the best weather month in the PNW.

That was my point. I'm in Seattle and it's perfect. Barrows is way off here!

the pics he has posted show otherwise

Pics?

Whats wrong with Reggie Smith?

nothing, typical webzone overreaction to a rookie getting beat for a couple td's

he's not a rookie
Looks like Ginn has helped spread the defense for Vernon.

"First play of 9-on-7 drills, rookie guard Mike Iupati does a nice job of picking up a blitzing Takeo Spikes.

Team period begins with a couple of sloppy plays, but offense rebounds immediately. Smith once again finds Vernon Davis deep down the field past the coverage of linebacker Matt Wilhelm.
Ginn makes nice over-the-middle grab during 7-on-7 work in front of Dashon Goldson.

A David Carr pass intended for Ginn was picked off by cornerback Shawntae Spencer who made an impressive catch. It’s Spencer’s interception of camp so far, tying him with Goldson for team lead.

Glen Coffee showed nice burst on an inside draw. The 17 pounds he’s added this offseason don’t appear to be slowing him down. Next play, Coffee picks up blitzing cornerback Philip Adams with a nice thud. Perhaps his pass protection has benefited with added weight too.

That’s it for practice. We’ll have more coverage on 49ers.com later today. Stay tuned."

You think that might help the QB out when he does that???
Ginn Jr. is looking like a real steal right now!

Thank you Miami, hope that 5th rounder makes the team! haha

Yup. It would've even help out Shaun Hill.
Am I the only one who isn't getting excited from reading about Ginn? We've had way too many practice stars over the years, so I'll remain skeptical until he shows something during the regular season.

agreed! It's good news, but certainly nothing to look too deep into!

If he can get three 40 yard catches in the first 6 games, it would definitely cause defenses to play a little softer when he's in. The threat alone will open some underneath stuff or get a Safety's attention enough to veer off of Vernon.
