Roman had very good coverage on the play. Favre literally stuck the ball into the perfect (and only possible spot). Favre made an insane throw, Roman couldnt have covered it any better, Lewis dragged his toes.

the person most to blame on that play was Justin Smith for overrunning the sack.

lots of bad s**t happened, including roman for some reason using the wrong arm to try to defend the pass

Well, the front seven did everything but sack Favre. They broke up his timing and flushed the turd out of the pocket. 99% of the QB's in the league, this is a recipe for success. I blame Roman, who was a Packer when Favre was with the Pack. Favre knew the one weakness on that play and he threw the ball to Lewis who was being covered by Roman. With Roman having okay coverage, but the fact he didn't push Lewis out of bounds is why Roman sucks elephant balls.

I hope Favre comes back one more time so the 49ers can play him in the playoffs and send him off into retirement with a 49ers logo tattooed on his back.

I still say the dude's foot was on the line. Love how Fox didn't show any other replay angles.
the vikings could have beaten an arena team 7-0, as long as favre threw a last second td pass it was gonna be named game of the year. infact they shouldnt even have called it 49ers v vikings game of the year, should have been called the brett favre game, cus if tarvaris jackson woulda thrown it, it wouldnt have even made the top 10

I like that.

It wasn't even the final TD that I hate the most about that game. It was that bull$h!t block that Favre put on P.Willie, I kept hoping that Willis would pay him back for that one but he never quite got the chance.

All he had to was push him out iof bounds on the way down though and the game was over.

Or Bly make the damn INT

Or offence get 1 first down....

Either way it is another notch in Favre's belt. The scoreboard is like 11-2 or something and I will hate him, (but respect the hell out of him) forever.

From a glass half full poit of view, lets say we won. We're 4-1 with Hill still entrenched as the starter. He doesn't get pulled in Houston (after all he is the QB that beat Favre and Vikes) and Smtih never gets back in. We never open up the offence, maybe we win the same amount maybe we make it to 9-7. Either way we are still screwed with Noodle arm at QB and a brutal offence.

Not saying we are for sure going to be good, but at least we are in a position to move forward now, and might be really good over the next few years...hopefully.

Hey if we squeeze out an other win, I'll take Todd Marinovich at QB. Winning is what counts!

I can't remember being more pissed after a game.

I almost cried, my girl had to rub my back and tell me to calm down for probably an hour. f**k Brett Favre man
F*ck the Vikings. And more so, F*ck Brett Favre.
umm the game woulda been more satisfying if we won or the result happened to someone else.

You people are clearly missing the silver lining to this precedent. It takes 2 teams to put on a great show (not just the winner; with a winning moment to make a game stand out the most), if this game were a blow-out it would be considered one of the worst games of the season.

Seriously, if you saw NFLN those guys gave the niners nothing but props, and they pointed out in a small way just how far we've come (to the point that we were labeled "upstarts" during that game speaks miles alone).

Yee buddy. Tough to watch that video but the fact that the Niners got put back in the national spotlight is something to celebrate for sure.

That picture hardly makes your claim a certainty. Why not try posting a pic when it actually proves your point.

Loser mentality. Niners are a proud franchise with a deep tradition and rich legacy. (compare it to the Vikings please). We are in the national spotlight as part of the media's Favre highlight reel. I'm not sure which is more pathetic, watching a Favre highlight at our expense, or your joy at the Niners being nationally spotlighted as the losers.
