Now that we know were moving to Santa Clara are you happy?

At any rate, looking at the webpage, makes me wish I was living there and rich enough for the club seats or suites. They look so cool.

However, it looks like some fans may lose out? The stadium is smaller than the stick.

Club seats stated at 9000, is that part of the 68500 or is that in addition to it.

It says also for special events it can be made to seat 75,000-wow if they sell out why don't they just already add those extra 7,000 unless it encroaches on the club seats or suites.

Hope to one day go see a game in the new plex, after visiting some friends in Sf, after all its only and hour away at most.

Oh yeah some newbie was posting about tailgating, parking, and traffic being a problem on the countdown thread, looking at the website, he/she was totally wrong.

Plus you don't have to worry as much about your car being jacked if it were at hunters point, unless of course you are Dallas Fan visiting SC-haha.

yea, until I see the stadium up, it's just a dream. ANYTHING can happen to put a halt to construction.

The biggest remaining hurdle is financing. If the money get's locked in I think they're pretty well home free. After construction starts it won't stop.

well maybe san francisco is definietly the most cultural place in the bay let alone california, maybe even the US, not to mention the history here, we can start a new history in sc but 5 trophies here... walsh montana etc. thats sf and that cannot be carried to santa clara, the trophies will be shipped but candlestick is the spot. we also lose the wind variable which was a huge home field advantage

Aren't the trophies at the team headquarters? Which means that the stadium is moving as close as possible to the 5 Super Bowl trophies because it is being built right next door to team headquarters in Santa Clara.

The new stadium is bringing us closer to the Super Bowl, in more ways than one.

i was born, raised, and bred .5 miles from the stick...all i know is san francisco 49ers and candlestick park...some of you guys have never even been to the stick or know about the history.....leaving a city that wants you is bad business

While it would have been nice if the niners stayed in SF, obviously the powers that be didn't. So why don't you take it out on Gavin, your illustrious neightbor. As a politician you know he is not telling the whole story as why he can't get the niners to stay. He is only going to tell you things that will make the niners look bad.

Candlestick park had its glory, but things need change, don't change for the sake of change but because it is necessary. You and I know that the stadium, despite its storied past is outdated and old. Its like expecting a firm to compete using a commodore 64 computer and then saying we'll upgrade with a p4 with 32 bit architecture cause you don't want ot pay more for a 64 bit architecture. BTW, I've been loving the niners since age 7, whcih makes me a fan for 41 years +

Who the hell care what piece of land in the bay area it gets built on as long as it gets built right and is something the fans players and the NFl can be proud of. Several teams play outside of their quote town name. Dallas both NY teams play outside their name sakes. I think a 5 time champ needs a state of the art field soon.

I agree with most of what you said but how would the fanbase change? It's going to be the same fanbase.

Not the "fanbase", that was the wrong word. But more fans from the South Bay will be able/willing to attend games. Location is important. Driving up to San Francisco sounds like a chore, especially fighting through traffic. Driving to Santa Clara is easy for almost anyone in the South Bay.

I don't know why it is, but I think there is a vibe in the South Bay that is different. There is more open space and fields for kids to play sports. I think generally there are more sports fans overall because of that.
