And even more proof...from Mr. Barrows

"The main beneficiary was tight end Vernon Davis, who, like he did routinely in 2009, ran down the middle of the field, got a step on the inside linebacker and hauled in three of Smith's passes for touchdowns. (And let the defense hear about it afterward). Davis has been trumpeting the "11-85" connection on Twitter for the past few days, and it was out in full force today."

Nicely done. Good memory.

No MB, basically quoted Vernon Davis. Its a retweet.
I posted this pic on another thread, but dang! Vernon sure has come a long way in developing his catching skills.

Look at that concentration for his Season-tying TE TD record, the 13th. I hope he can continue to persuade Ginn to do the same.

You go Vernon!!!! You da Real Man now!!!!

And Maiocco, Barrows, 49ers PR, and the rest of the media need to shut the f**k up about Meyer's quote over a half decade ago. I don't care if there's an attitude change in Alex Smith. I care about if there's an on the field performance change in Alex Smith.

If this is how you react to positive news, i'd hate to see what you'd do with bad news.

He's definitely starting to put it all together. Just think, had he not dropped the pass in the endzone from alex against the seahawks, he would have broken the record.

Whether you believe it on not, this is a big step in Alex Smith showing you. He has never taken command of the offense like this before. This is a big step considering the team is still practicing in shorts. What more do you want at this point in the process?

I want the media to stop focusing on the Meyer quote, and actually display their non-partisan, objective viewpoint instead of being biased because Alex is a good and articulate guy.

I like Alex, but it's practice. Just because he actually knows the playbook now - something which he's getting paid 3+ million a year to do - doesn't mean its going to translate on gameday.

I think Matt Maiocco is getting some action from Alex Smith for all of these love blog entries.

Actually Alex showing that he knows the playbook now is what you want. You are asking him to do something in Sept , now! it makes no sense. Chances are he will be able to show it on the field come sept because of what he is doing now. The fact that you are acting like he did not grow tremendously last season shows bias against him. At this time of the year, he is doing exactly what we need to hear. Let Sept come before asking to show me on the filed

Well we always hear about how Smith is looking like a Pro Bowl QB during practice, people just wanna see in-game results.

This. All of us are tired of getting are hopes up and then not making the playoffs, so i'll believe it when i see it

So to all of you that want him to prove it on game day, come back in September!

In the meantime, we fans want to get as much as we can about the PROGRESS our team and QB are making even if he farts in the wind.

And by the way, "The Coach Meyer" label is real and we are going to see the second part of it come true this year.

If you don't like ALL the posts about off-season activities, "Then why you came?" If you stay, deal with it!

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez!

In the meantime...all day biatches!!!!

get em tico

Thats my man Tico!!!! I agree with everything you said!
