vernon made some plays but gore won games......he scored just as many TDs as davis and had 1526 all purpose yards. not to mention most of davis' TDs came in games we lost and gore scored our only TDs in more than one game.(sea, chi) so my vote as well as yours should go to FRANK GORE!

For those who picked Bam Bam because without him we would have lost more games, the same thing could be applied to Davis. How many multiple TD games did he have last season? If he was out for significant amount of time the Offense would have come to a screeching halt over 80% of the season.

It should really be shared between Davis and Bam Bam though.

Davis had two multi TD games, (min, hou) but we lost both of them.

Gore is the MVP of this team the past 3 years. It's not your most talented player, it's your most VALUABLE. We lose to Seattle twice without Gore and his two 80+ yard runs.

Look at how we fared when Coffee was filling in.

Gore is the biggest reason we win games. We ride him for everything he's worth.

Frank gets my vote, and apparently only two percent of the other votes.

I agree - but let me add that it is disheartening to see how people always gravitate to the flashy. Gore "IS" the offense... Now if that changes this season all the better for the team but without Gore the last few years and especially last year this team would have almost nothing!!! Sure Davis got better and Willis is a stud but Gore is the difference between wins and loses...

Pretty tough because everyone besides Crabtree deserves it. Crabtree could win it next year though.

The kid is amazing, and it sure as hell is possible. That excites the hell out of me!

I agree about Gore, but how do you think we fair if you take away those 13 touchdowns from Davis?

Not arguing about Gore deserving the MVP award but you're wrong about one thing. Gore had 10 touchdowns last year to Davis' 13.

It's like Kobe Bryant, he always is deserving of the MVP award but you can't ignore guys like Pau Gasol.

My bad, just saw 10 total at the top, must be a typo.

Still, my vote goes to Davis.
When you set/tie records, it has to be you. The others are great players, and not to take anything away from them, but Vernon Davis is hands down the pick.

I still don't know the reason why they didn't try to get Vernon the record in that last game? There were opportunities to get Vernon the TD that day. A couple of redzone chances if I remember correctly, but went for the run instead.
