Anything out of Bowman?

first it was small hands. Now, it's small head?
It's hard to project just how much new talent we have at the db spots this early but the new guys seem to have some talent. With Mays and Maragos etc, I think Reggie Smith should go back to corner. To me he seems to have good quick reactions and agility that corners need and his size is about right for corner. I would like to see him play corner for a bit to see if he could handle it. In a way, he reminds me of Shantae Spencer and he showed me a lot in preseason last year. Mays, Maragos and Curtis Taylor could manage the safety slots along with Goldson. Obviously Maragos may not make it on main roster but he might make the practice squad and it appears the late pickups at corner look decent. Hopefully they pan out enough to replace some of the weak spots on the roster. The spots at linebacker seem pretty well endowed especially considering Briggs and Bowman along with the rest of the vets. IMO the DL is very well stocked with enough talent though a big NT next year would be welcome.
I am really amazed at how well Singletary has done at getting the players he needed. He seems much better as a judge of real players then McCloughan who seemed to be a connessuer of his own imaginings and not much as a judge of players. I like the fact he has addressed the return guys with backups and backups so the fact that Ginn can be a fulltime reciever. Most every need has at least been addressed, maybe not with starters now but players with ability and potential and not 340 lb kick returners and one legged punters. The idiocy of the past conversion projects irked many and I suppose had some basis to try to find some players but the fact was they were picked with better players still available which says that McCloughan was not any big genius at picking players. I like many of the UDFAs this year and I think many will stick in some spot. The fact we missed two picks 4th and fifth seems mitigated by some astute signings of UDFAs. I can only speak for myself but IMO they done good.

Great post & I agree the 49ers have done a great job at filling the roster & making competition this year.
