He was the highlight of the 09 off season until he got injured on an acrobatic catch. I think he deserves a shot this year based on all of the reports of how good he was doing in practice. He should be healed by now.
Hill > Jones
Jones could be a very nice 4th wr, but not at what we paid him! One of our worst FA signings in recent memory.
Not according to the Matt's observations from last camp. Hill has always been the odd man out because he can never stay healthy, but I remember Jones being the best receiver on the field when all were practicing together.
We all know the money he's making makes no sense, but we may be surprised.
Camp? Come on dude. Those are drills, I want someone who can play in games. He didn't get on the field cause he wasnt as good as the other players.
Oh yeah, and Hill was all over the place right??
Jason Hill Stats
9 Rec for 90 yds in 11 games!
Don't get me wrong.... I'm not all over Jones' nutz because he has a lot to prove. I just don't think Hill is better than him.
I do think Hill is better and more productive when in the game. Thats what the numbers show.
Jones has started 27 games in the NFL, Hill has started 2.
In 3 years he has 40 Rec and 4 Tds. His best year (2008) 30 Rec. while only starting 2 games.
Jones in his best year (2008) 41 Rec. started 7 games.
Hills main issue is staying healthy. But he is the faster, quicker player and he has good hands.
I would say they are pretty even but based on playing time Hill puts up the better numbers when he plays. Not to mention Hill outplayed him last year as well.
