Are you still mad because I would rather have McNabb over Smith?

Why would he want that job? His job is more cushy now and he has tons of money accumulated from his playing days.

He's a very smart man. He's a lawyer and he says the same things over and over again on ESPN. I think someone of his intellect would want a new challenge

To make over probably $1 Million per year to say bullsh** and have an already super high net worth of tens of millions and to only have to work part time (part of the year) wouldn't be appealing to you?

You make my point for me. If I'm set for life financially then I would want something to attract me mentally and not just pt work. Although that's just me. I'm not Steve young and I don't have 12 kids at home either

I think he would do a better job than Matt Millen. I don't think it would happen because the first thing he would want to do is switch to the West Coast Offense and that would mean getting a new OC.

Mad over what?

by you wanting to gamble the 49ers future just for this upcoming season.

So you think one 2nd round draft pick and Alex Smith is gambling the 49ers future?

for a player already on his way out, yes that is.
It didn't work for Millen...you have to be experienced.

He is still behind Alex Smith, Smith might be out before McNabb.

Are you nuts? He never has held an NFL job outside of Hall of Fame quarterback. We don't need any more learn on the job people.

That means he fits our hiring requirement. This franchise do not hire people with prior experience when it comes to hiring top executives. We only hire people with NO experience so the ownership can shape them. Learning on the job is our standard modus operandi. The candidates must also be willing to work for minimum to assure value. If Steve is willing to take a big pay cut.,...

A second round pick is like trading a player as good as Bass, Chilio, or Balmer (even though he was a late 1st). That is not the future. Davis, Crabtree, Gore, Willis, Goldson, Brown, Lawson, Brooks, Harlson, Staley, Morgan, and our 2 first round picks are the future of the 49ers.

If mcnabb comes in, smith will be out next year for sure. mcnabb can also leave/retire next year.

What would do now with both players gone?

Mcnabb is not young, this would have been a great move 3-4 years ago, but not now.

I think Smith is out either way, McNabb or no McNabb unless he kills it next year and shows he can play from under center and is more decisive in his options. He had a good year, but he still scares me every time I watch.
Why not get Montana to be the GM? He isn't doing anything. Heck, might as well get Rice also to be an assistant to the GM. Because great players make great GMs. Right?
