Forgot about Justin Smith, I'd say he'd deserve a buy...but I usually only like getting jerseys for guys that are exclusively Niners, not a FA pickup.

Crabtree: perform well consistently for a few years first
VD: perform well consistently for a few years first
Goldson: perform well consistently for a few years first
Franklin: perform well consistently for a few years first
Lawson: he's not good.
Spikes: he's good, but I don't really consider him a Niner, more like a guy we're renting for a few years.
Clements: debatable; he's good, but I wouldn't get his jersey

whats not good about Lawson? did you even watch the Niners this last year? yay for blind assumptions based on little to nothing! Lawson was actually very good.

i think this team has 9 players with jersies worth buying. i personally wouldnt buy all of them, but you could make the case for 9. and then maybe a hardcore jersey buyer could find maybe 2 or 3 more.

id say if you were buying jersies, the list of choices goes like this:

1. Patrick Willis: HOFer.
2. Frank Gore: best rb in niner history since Hugh McElhenny
3. Vernon Davis: one more season of pass catching dominance and ill go buy one
4. Michael Crabtree: scouts say "ceiling is Larry Fitzgerald" and hes well on his way
5. Justin Smith: best pass rushing DE in the NFL last season. best overall 3-4 DE
6. Alex Smith: after next year you might not be making fun of his jersey anymore
7. Manny Lawson: very underrated. quietly a top ten 3-4 OLB last year
8. Nate Clements: on his way out, but still decent.
9. Andy Lee: twice a pro bowler, and arguably all-pro. nobody can make fun of a Lee jersey.

and then you can make a case for Franklin, Spikes, Spencer, Goldson, Walker, but i dont think theyve done enough yet, or will stick around long enough to bother.

I've never bought a team jersey of any kind. My parents bought me a Joe Montana one when I was a kid. Matter of fact it was the whole uniform with pads and everything. Hutch I think.

If I was to get a jersey I think I'd get a John Taylor one. Just because you don't see too many of those and he was a fave of mine back in the day.

Gore, Willis, Davis, Crabtree are the best bets. Seeing a #38 Goldson around would be sweet though.
