Were you one of those people who also called Dashon Goldson a wasted pick/bust??
Some people here hate on these young players almost right away if they don't become instant superstars.

Not sure what this has to do with Goldson. But i didn't think Goldson was a wasted pick or a bust. And Smith doens't need to be a instant star to not be a bust pick. But what made the pick lame was the impressive talent still on the board and the fact that Nolan drafted another tweener and didn't know how to use him at all.

Anyone check out the podcast?
I just listened back and my favorite part was when Reggie slowed way down and carefully chose his words when I asked him if Peterson or Gore was better.
He was tough at first but I think I got a lot out of him. I hope 9er nation enjoyed it.

Reggie Smith was ranked in the top 50 by many "draft experts" so the pick wasn't lame at all and it's very easy to say there was still a lot of talent on the board 3 years after the draft.
The simple fact is Reggie is a safety. He spent his first 2 years in the NFL trying to become a corner...

Well, the 9ers seem to specialize in taking tweeners who need to move to safety. This year the trend continued, so I hope the coaches can use them effectively! Some have even suggested Clements be moved to safety. That would leave Spencer as our only true, healthy, veteran CB?
