For me the worst mistake SF did during the past decade was not draft Aaron Rodgers. However, I am not trying to turn this into an "Alex Smith" post as much as hate the fact Rodgers is not a Niner. With that being said what does everyone else think as far as the worst mistake during the past decade? Either something we did or did not do. The other one for me was hiring Coach Dennis Erickson.

Like Rodgers would have flourished with crud coaching, no O line and no targets

I mean seriously whatever QB we drafted to that situation would have sucked. Why dont people get that?

If Alex Smith was a Packer and was doing great than all you smith haters would be all over his D.

You're not serious, are you Aussie? If there's one guy that's actually done his job efficiently and succeeded in this organization, it's him. We came out of Cap Hell and have no problems with it since he's taken over that situation. [duuno]
Worst mistake was letting Jerry Garcia go. We wouldn't have suffered through the age of Ratatouille, Dorsey, Cannoli, Drunkenmiller.

Read the first 3 pages of this and you'll know where I'm coming from.

Terry Donohue. Let's make a list of his "accomplishments"

- Firing Marriucci
- Hiring Erickson
- Drafting Woods over Wilfork and Harris
- Cutting 9 (I think) starters in one offseason
- Losing BOTH Owens and Garcia, when it was clear we could have kept one of them.
- Draft picks like Kwame Harris

I am sure we could add many more...

TDon.

And he was recommended by the man who more than anyone made this organisation great.

Ironic

Letting Jeff Garcia go. No he is not the best QB to ever play for the Niners, but he was good enough to get us into the playoffs.

Where do we begin, Yorks taken over, firing Maraucci, hiring Nolan, the list goes on and on.....
Releasing 7 of our starters after the 2003 season. Although this had the side effect of getting TD and Erickson fired after the 2-14 season.
