I hope so. I'm tired of this guy. It's been a painful 6 years watching him suck balls. No more Alex Smith.

are ypu serious mike?

Yes. We need a true franchise QB to lead our team. Alex is not a franchise QB. And I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Well I don't know about him sucking ass the next 4 games, if he plays like how he did in Seattle this Monday, dude needs to be benched ASAP. But I doubt he will sit on the bench for very long, since his back ups are much more terrible than him. If I had it my way, I'd draft the best available QB in the 1st next year and re-sign Smith as our #2. The kid has got a good head on his shoulders, unfortunately hes not a starter or franchise QB in this league IMO.

No way. If Smith can not be on this team another year. Unless, a miracle happens and he throws 26+ TD's. We have to cut the cord with this guy. He's a really nice guy and I like his attitude but I would rather have an a-hole with pro-bowl talent. (McNabb was available)
i like smith and i hope the seattle game was just a hiccup but if he has a few more games like that he wont be on this team long. i dont think it was all his fault but he has to make something happen out there. wake up smith!!!
You know I was listiening to ESPN radio today on my way home from the unemployment office. And the show was "The Herd" with Colin Cowherd. And he was talking about QBs. And he made some interesting comments. Talking about how he met Ben Rothlisberger and Alex Smith at a golf tournament when they first got drafted.

He goes on to say you can tell the difference between the two Qbs immediately. Ben commanded the room when he was surrounded by the media. Ben talked loud and the people sort of gravitated toward Ben like he had this mystique about himself. While Alex on the other hand was very shy, very quiet, had a soft handshake. And Colin said to himself he knew immediately that he Alex wouldn't make it as a successful QB because he doesn't seem to have the characteristics that a leader of a NFL football team needs.

He goes on to say why do people still believe in the Alex Smith experiment after 6 years. He said Drew Brees, Ben Rothlisberger and Payton Manning get you in the endzone. He says that Alex Smith and Jason Campbell may get you down the field. But never in the endzone.

He also talks about how Alex was not that successful as a high school Qb only being drafted by two colleges and one of them was Utah. Also saying that he wasn't this highly scouted QB like a Sanchez when he graduated high school being sort by schools all over the country.

cosigned he just has to make plays happen at this point. He needs to get more aggressive, get some command over his team, speak up, don't be a b***h, be accurate with his throws, hang tough in the pocket, and run when he needs a first down. He's got to overcome all this stuff and stop making his own mistakes. He has good potential to do it but at this point in his career hasn't and IDK if he ever will. A good performance vs NO this weekend would probably save his job though. COME ON SMITH.
I think the thread title should be changed to,

This.
Dude has got to go. I've been in his corner from the beginning, for what ever reason I've foolishly sat back and hoped that this douche would magically turn into something other than the total failure that he is. Why? I know exactly why, one play in the 2007 Monday night game vs the cards. this a$$ throws a beautiful, beautiful deep pass to the end sone that goes right through the hands of... whatever that sorry ass wideouts name was. I was fooled. I'm not in here much but when I am I'm usually trying to make a weak joke or I've defended this bust.

To everyone that has said this guy is a bust... I stand corrected and am ready to sit and eat that tasty crow.

FUK YOU ALEX SMITH!

It was Darren Jackson, that also seems to follow smith, when he does make a great throw, it usually goes through the WR hands and i think i know why. The WR simply don´t expect that Smith is capable of making those kind of throws, so when it happens, they are so surprised by it that they drop the ball
