I just wanna make the playoffs

I really don't care if we get blown out in our first playoff game, it would just be nice to go and actually be legitimate.

Plus I think it would be a big boost to all the younger guys. How many guys on our roster have even played in a playoff game. Of the top of my head, I can only think of 2: Michael Lewis and Justin Smith.

6 of our 8 losses were by 7 points or less, so we're definitely close. I feel like this team can compete with anybody, we just have to get in the playoffs to actually do it.

Sorry; had to be done.
Same here. Unless we get blown out by the Cowboys/Favre/Cards/Hawks.
we WILL make the playoffs this coming year, guaranteed.

with the cards losing half their team to retirement/FA, and the hawks starting with a new coach, and the rams being the rams... itd be pretty hard to NOT make the playoffs. if we dont make the playoffs, it would be pretty sad.

I don't think our division is the problem. We went 5-1 in our division this year and still missed the playoffs. We gotta win the other games.
Look out for the Rams.....

Agreed. I don't think people realize how much that Minnesota game screwed up our season last year. We're right there, we just can't seem to get over the hump and move into the category of "top teams". The game vs. MIN was the hump game, and sure enough Favre drove a stake through our hearts.

This team has the most talent it's had since the days of the early 2000's and, in some respects, even more than that. As you said Huckleberry, the division is not the problem. A. It's the weakest it's ever been and B. We went 5-1. We have to be able to play the teams we are unfamiliar with and win the games that we SHOULD win, (ie: Seattle, Tennessee in '09).

We just need that extra spark. Barrows writes about intensity in one of his latest articles and how we lack that type of "bad ass" mentality on the O-line that Derrick Deese and co. used to display way back when. I think we could use a little more of that all around. Willis is finally developing into a strong leader and I think Crabtree has the swagger that this team needs more of. Some mean streaks could really do this unit some good.

We also need to learn to not squander opportunities. The offense is famous for this. Our defense, although it can still improve, gave us more than enough chances to win this year. Yet when the game was there to be put away, the offense would sputter time and time again to dismal three and outs.

I completely agree with you Huckleberry. All I care about is the playoffs. If we win, great. If we don't, it will at least be nice to say that we had a playoff year for the first time in 8 years because this drought seems insurmountable.

Exactly the o line are a bunch of nice guys. We need somebody with a mean streak to light a fire up under there asses. I would be happy if they make the playoffs but I want them to get in and win soem games hopefully. Once you are in anything can happen.
