That being said some GM candidates may negotiate power structure in their deal

Doubt they will take anyone not willing to accept Paraag's role.
I am pretty sure Jed and Paraag will get the GM and Coach they deserve, unfortunately for the fans.

True that.
In business when you are at the top you have to stand aloof from the staff because you have to make at times objective and sometimes very ruthless decisions for the good of the organisation.
This is Jed's shortcoming as evidenced by hanging on to Baalke for way too long. If he was smart he would have sacked Baalke instead of Harbaugh or both of them at the same time.
However he was too pally with Baalke and kept him on till he followed the pied piper off the cliff into chaos
