I've been arguing that Paraag is the cancer in the FO for YEARS on (other blogs). I don't care if he's an eighteenth generation white blue blood scion of European royalty from Iowa City. I've wanted him out and I want him out.

It was his project that the Dr. bought into that had Stanford college students grading our draft prospects. You think I forget? I know how Harbaugh felt. How do you fight such idiocy?
"Pillars hit him, and Stuckey got the ball."

I want this guy to say that upon receiving his golden parachute.

I know I'm dreaming. Another 1-15 or two though and it might happen.

Agree, Wasn't he demoted before the start of the season? I thought Al Guido took his old position, and Paraag was focused on some of other projects including still being the cap guru.

He's written some very team friendly contracts. Even when we were pressed up against the cap, he did a great job keeping us out of cap trouble in future seasons. It's not his fault the team stopped adding good players.

He is close to York, and nobody really knows his role in some of the bigger decisions over the years that led to the teams downfall. I'm fine with him if he's just handling the cap and not in Jed's ear when it comes to big organizational decisions.

One thing is for sure, we need a front office shakeup and hire a head of football ops to guide the team.

He leftbthe non-football President role but was given of kept the football ops roles of Executive Vice President of Football Operations and Chief Strategy Officer. Guido had the President title Yu had leading up to Levis and then Marathe had up through the Super Bowl.

There is just no way on earth that a foreigner, (even if he was born here), has any business managing a NFL pro football team. Trying to draft players, make trades in FA, based on his fricking computer and its programs is just flat out stupid. He obviously has no feel for football, but puts a lot of faith in that dumb machine in his lap. This is one move that is easy. He is fine for cap issues, but he should NEVER have been given any power or even input as far as players go, FA or Draft, nor should he have anything to do with calling plays. Lock him in a room with his computer and hack out those cap figures. But let him ONLY do that. NOTHING ELSE. Leave that to football guys who grew up with the game from age 5 on. I suspect paraag grew up with European Football,(soccer), and not American Football. Use the computer where indicated...cap figures. But forget having a "furener" making decisions based on what his computer spits out. That is stupid. Just plain stupid.

Now if Bellichek or say Coach Walsh at the end of his career, want to use a computer for football stuff....fine. But please, a guy who didn't wasn't playing football from age 5 on, and I mean American football, not soccer....lock him and his in a closet and have him give you cap numbers. Keep him away from the game, the stadium, the draft, and FAs.. Heck do something like that , and you end up, well....like the Schidt team we currently are fielding. Get rid of paraag. Don't even let him on the football ppty. He can work far away from 49er central. And then keep him there. No more input from paraag. Please.

The first sentence of this post is ignorant and disgusting. First off, he isn't a foreigner because he's brown. He grew up in the Bay Area. Secondly, someone born in a different country can work in an NFL front office.

I highly recommend deleting this garbage.

Yeah, I think the first sentence of the original post needs explanation.
The only thing that could be worse than keeping Baalke another year, is Marathe becoming the GM, if that happens then we're not gonna win any time soon, I'm hoping he's far away as possible from football decisions.
Didn't this dude get "demoted" last year?

Maybe in the non-football side when he gave up the Team President role but he is the EVP of Football Operations anc Chief Strategy Officer which sound like the top roles in football operatiosn to me. I don't recall them ever saying he was going to lose power in football operations.

Okay, maybe I was mistaken. They made it seem like he would have less influence on the football side of things. Just a PR move obviously.

That was definitely the narrative on this board but it wasn't the case.

I almost don't think it mattered too much because he and Baalke obviously agreed on most things anyway.
The architect of destruction for the niners, he wrote the guide books on how to do it.

A sure sign he will be GM next year because he took one for the company/ He is Jed's man through and though
For those of you saying Paraag pushed Bill Walsh out, you are sadly mistaken. Walsh hired Bain to do the analytics work and was an early mentor of Paraag's. He actively supported his work and ultimately helped Paraag get into Stanford Business School.

Paraag is a smart, even keeled guy who is not the source of the problems in 49er land. Other than maybe Harbaugh, the coaches actually like him and many (including Chip) compliment him publicly.

He is the Chief Strategy Officer and the 49ers strategy has sucked.
He holds the top position in football operations, Executive VP of Football Operations, and football operations have been a complete mess for the past few years.
I have no doubt that the guy is wicked smart but it is time for a change and a new vision for football operations.
