Good post Itrain.

"Foreigner even if he was born here"... what a terrible racist comment

There is just no way on earth that a foreigner, (even if he was born here), has any business managing a NFL pro football team. Trying to draft players, make trades in FA, based on his fricking computer and its programs is just flat out stupid. He obviously has no feel for football, but puts a lot of faith in that dumb machine in his lap. This is one move that is easy. He is fine for cap issues, but he should NEVER have been given any power or even input as far as players go, FA or Draft, nor should he have anything to do with calling plays. Lock him in a room with his computer and hack out those cap figures. But let him ONLY do that. NOTHING ELSE. Leave that to football guys who grew up with the game from age 5 on. I suspect paraag grew up with European Football,(soccer), and not American Football. Use the computer where indicated...cap figures. But forget having a "furener" making decisions based on what his computer spits out. That is stupid. Just plain stupid.

Now if Bellichek or say Coach Walsh at the end of his career, want to use a computer for football stuff....fine. But please, a guy who didn't wasn't playing football from age 5 on, and I mean American football, not soccer....lock him and his in a closet and have him give you cap numbers. Keep him away from the game, the stadium, the draft, and FAs.. Heck do something like that , and you end up, well....like the Schidt team we currently are fielding. Get rid of paraag. Don't even let him on the football ppty. He can work far away from 49er central. And then keep him there. No more input from paraag. Please.

Sweet Jeebus, dude! The man's ethnicity has zero to do with his ability to be an NFL executive
I suspect Paraag grew up a few miles from where I grew up (Saratoga and Cupertino) an watched American football and did most of the same things I and people I knew did.
I am not sure what European soccer has to do with it.

Trent Baalke is a White American football guy and he sucks too.

Has nothing to do with race, nothing to do with color....Has to do wiht how he grew up. And based on the moves he has "made" or drafts or trades or FAs he has helped out with...you tell me. Has he done a sterling job? This guy is EVP of football ops. EVP! And reports have been that this is the Jedi's #1 go to man. So you tell me. Are you satisfied with this guy and the way he has been the #1
Man in building this team? I don't think so. We are so paralyzed that it seems there is nowhere to go. It is as if a guy from Mars has been making our personnel decisions, our GM and HC decisions. Nobody is going to dispute that. It looks like a guy is in charge who has no ruddy idea WTF he is doing. Maybe everyone is lying and he has nothing to do wth making the important personnel decisions, or maybe he isn't Jed's #1 man as has been reported. But looking at that mess out on the field, my gut tells me this is a guy who has been promoted way beyond his level of expertise, Peter's principle if you will.

It looks like a guy who has grown up around and playing football (European and S.American, and Asian, football...aka SOCCER)....not NFL football. And if you don't believe it, just take a gander at that hot mess on the field on Sun. Bullcrap that this is racist. What it is....is a guy with no idea what he is doing , and making executive decisions at that. Everybody wants Trent gone....FINE . Just be sure paraag precedes him out the door. And this business of cap numbers and paraag's expertise? Does anyone think he wasn't whispering in Jed's ear last yr during FA, "No, don't pay that much for that OLB, for that WR, for that ILB....It will screw up my cap values." Anybody think that really wasn't a part of last yr's FA?

BEcause we had lots of holes, lots of money, and it sure looked like our side was lowballing the guys who went in the first two days.....you know, all the all pro guys. And we didn't get squaddle out of that . But I will tell you what. At the end of FA, 2nd day, paraag sure had his cap numbers nice and tiddy. To hell wth that. Get someone in the HoFOs position who knows what he is doing. Because it is a lead pipe cinch that paraag doesn't.

You are the guy who said that the fact that he is of Indian an foreign decent make him unqualified and what exactly makes him look like a guy who grew up watching European soccer?

I was b***hing about this guy well before you were, I am aware of the shortcomings of him and the rest of the FO.

I'm saddened by Pasco's racist comments.

Same guy that signed Kap to a 100 million dollar contract two seasons before we had to, and restructured it so we payed him 20 million this season.
pasodoc9er You're a racist, apologize or quit denying and own up to it. I have 0 respect for people like you... sorry, not sorry.
The 49ers are going to hire a director of football operations/GM from outside the organization and it's going to be a total house cleaning. Jed has tried it his way the last 2 years and now he realizes it must be done differently. If Jed takes a step back and gives up power this is an attractive job. A new stadium, over a 100 million in cap space and high draft picks. If this team had a good young QB they would be lining up to fill the job. The whole key to this thing is Jed willing to step back and let a real football executive handle things.

Agree, Wasn't he demoted before the start of the season? I thought Al Guido took his old position, and Paraag was focused on some of other projects including still being the cap guru.

He's written some very team friendly contracts. Even when we were pressed up against the cap, he did a great job keeping us out of cap trouble in future seasons. It's not his fault the team stopped adding good players.

He is close to York, and nobody really knows his role in some of the bigger decisions over the years that led to the teams downfall. I'm fine with him if he's just handling the cap and not in Jed's ear when it comes to big organizational decisions.

One thing is for sure, we need a front office shakeup and hire a head of football ops to guide the team.

Absolutely. The locale, cap space, and draft choices make this an attractive destination for a possible head of football ops....IF the Yorks will assure that person he will be empowered to do what he wants. That person would essentially be able to build this thing from the ground up with a lot of available resources.

He's the Executive Vice President of Football Operations and Chief Strategy Officer. He's the longest running Niner employee; I think Dr. hired Jed and him at the same time.

Wishing he doesn't have an enormous amount of Niner power doesn't make it true.

Sure, that's why people are wanting to see a head of football ops come in. The more football people we can bring in to knock guys like Paraag down the totem pole, the better.
