so they finally admit there was a rat, they identify the rat and then they leave him within the organization...

I agree. He also looks like a rat. Why don't they fire him? I know he is good with contracts, but I believe he brought this whole organization down.

Now, what does this mean for Gamble/Baalke/Tomsula?

This is what Paraag should have been doing all along! Finally the first step

I could NOT agree more. He's an absolutely brilliant contract guy. That CK contract may go down as the best contract in history. Why? Looked how eff'd the Ravens are now with a QB with a torn ACL/MCL? If Willow gets hurt? Your entire franchise is screwed.

I actually have no issues with him heading the analytics team either. Those are tools you can use to help find those gems (Draughn and others) but they can only be used as a tool to help see the bigger picture. The football guys need to be able to make the final decisions.

Willow HA...but yes I agree with all of that.
Wow, I must say pleasant surprise to wake up to. Tomsula showing some clout, holy s**t
If he is the source of the leaks, will this demotion put him outside the "circle of trust" where he can't leak information anymore?

Bwahahahaha! Perfect!
Hope this is a step in the direction of hiring a football mind for president.

SOMETHING at the top has to give. If it is true that Marathe's numbers have found their way into TOO much of the football-related work (who to draft, who should coach, when to challenge, etc.), then I say good ridance!

Al Guido enters his second season with the 49ers after being named chief operating officer in January 2014.

Guido oversees a number of key business initiatives for the team: sales, fan experience/service, marketing, stadium operations, corporate communications, business operations and 49ers Studios. Levi's® Stadium has already garnered international recognition, most notably the prestigious honor of Sports Business Journal 2015 Sports Facility of the Year and Venue of the Year at the 2015 Stadium Business Awards in Barcelona, Spain.

One of the most accomplished executives in the premium sales and service industry, Guido worked intimately with the 49ers and the Santa Clara Stadium Authority since 2010, as the senior vice president of global sales for Legends. In that capacity, he led a suite and SBL sales initiative for Levi's® Stadium that reached a record-setting pace.

As part of the sales campaign, Guido worked closely with the SCSA and the 49ers to define pricing and amenities for the stadium's premium offerings. While serving as the primary spokesman of the sales effort, he oversaw the project's marketing efforts, including the design of a state-of-the-art sales center, as well as the hiring, training and management of 50 sales professionals.

Legends Sales and Marketing clients include but are not limited to: the San Francisco 49ers, the Rose Bowl, the New York Jets, the New York Red Bulls, the Circuit of America's, the Kentucky Derby, Stanford University, Manchester City, and many more.

Prior to joining Legends, Guido served as sales manager for the Dallas Cowboys. In that role, he managed the premium seat department that broke industry records for PSL sales totaling over $500 million.

Guido joined the Cowboys after having served as the senior director of ticket sales for the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League. During his term, the Coyotes achieved the first revenue increases in the 10-year history of the franchise and finished in the top five in the NHL for new business sales.

A native of Washington Township, NJ, Guido began his career in the sports and entertainment industry with Comcast-Spectacor, owner and operator of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers, NHL's Philadelphia Flyers, AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms, Comcast SportsNet and the Wachovia Complex. Guido later went on to serve as the director of business development for the Lakewood Blueclaws (a minor-league affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies).
