There's also that Guido guy.

Jed's still trying to figure out how to make his email leak water ... Gotta be Paraag

Met him at Kezar, he's a nice guy but I don't think he's involved in anything to do with personnel or coaching.
one of you local guys needs to stash something in his car

Wasnt the main conplaint about him due to leaking stuff? Im not a fan of anyone from this last seasons regime but at least we arent in salary cap hell on top of sucking. Salary cap management has been decent in his time here. I cant think of any backbreaking contracts either that cause an Osweiller situation with a crappy player that cant be cut. Ive seen what bad contracts and cap management can do to teams and if Paraag would just shutup and concentrate on that alone then ok. Jed owns the team though so hes probably going to let Paraag make bad football decisions too.

If the 49ers continue having the same issues with leaks and an inability to make things work in the front office, it really becomes obvious as to what the problem really is.

Yes, Jed.

"IF?" They're not only still going on, there is a full fledged smear campaign of epic proportions.

You have two 30-somethings as BFF's making millions playing President and CEO with a franchise. I'm willing to bet "leaks" would be a more likely generational thing from these two (i.e. see social media issues already) than from an old school guy like Tomsula, Kelly, Baalke, etc.

Speaking of Guido, Jed replied to a question about not having a team President with answering Guido.

Is it just me or does Jed try to purposely keep Marathe's name out of the news? Just wondering because this is what it says on the 49ers.com Front Office Depth Chart page. Shows only one person who leads the Football Ops.

Ownership:
Denise: co-chair
John: co-chair
York: CEO

John M. Sobrato: co-owner
Mark Wan: co-owner
Gideon Yu: co-owner

Executive Management:

Football Operations:
Paraag Marathe: CSO and EVP of Football Operations

Business Operations:
Al Guido: President

he's great at making low ball offers to our veteran leaders, giving them basically no option but to leave the team. player leadership and durability is overrated anyway, as we've proved time again and again.

great job.

I read that this morning. BASG is always on point. Great read.
Where is Ralph Barbieri when you need him? Someone really needs to grill Jed York about Paraag Marathe's resume, contribution, and to what extent is he involved in coaches, player personnel, and all day to day things about football operations.

For example, the same position as Paraage's for the Green Bay Packers is Ted Thomspon. Thompson is the GM and Director of Football Operations. He also played LB for the Houston Oilers. He had a 10 year NFL career.

Dallas Cowboys have Jerry but they also have Stephen Jones who has 26 years of NFL experience. He is their CEO, Executive VP and Director of Player Personnel.

New England: Caserio is their director of player personnel and he has experience as a WR coach for the team along with many other experiences in the trenches.

Almost all teams have a Football Operations person who has NFL experience or a very long time experience in some sort of football environment for a long time. Marathe has none and he is our Football Ops guy. Most of these guys on other teams are also the GM. THIS is what is wrong with the team. Nobody in Admin has NFL playing, coaching experience or some sort of pedigree.
"Harbaugh has a more conservative football nature. And, he is largely driven by emotion and gut instincts. According to sources, it drove Marathe, and by extension, York and Baalke, nuts. Harbaugh resented Marathe's meddling and often refused his counsel. Jed York and GM Trent Baalke threw their support behind Marathe, exacerbating the, by now, well documented breakdown of the relationship between Harbaugh and ownership."

49ers will not be good for as long as Marathe is the head of Football Ops.
