I was able to watch three of the interviews. I came away with three impressions.
1. He is determined to excel.
2. He admitted that he has many areas in which to improve, but pointed to a number of things he did well this season (which he did). He has confidence in his abilities, which is essential.
3. He said he will play a much bigger role in game planning in the coming season. That will be significant. He is a smart kid, and he will influence Raye's playcalling so they are not put in so many bad situations.

I highly doubt that.

Nate taking over by week six? That's absolutely laughable.
All silliness aside, I don't even see why we bother arguing over this stuff anymore. What happens, happens. At this point, everyone is obviously limited to speculation -- and we've slowly begun to see the wildest extremes at that.

Alex really needs to drop this shy crap and take control of the huddle, not to mention the entire morale of the team. It's tough to play hard for a guy that doesn't express how hard he's going to play for them (and I'm not questioning toughness when I say this, I'm simply saying that Alex needs to be a bit more vocal in warming his crew up).
The QB is the field general, the alpha male, the prison 'Bubba' who makes b***hes his own left and right, the straight-up f**king leader of the team.

Alex doesn't have that persona.

Neither did Joe Montana, nor does Peyton Manning...I swear some of you guys are clueless. Cheerleaders do not win games.

While I did not watch this, it is just very interesting to note how Smith interviews. I do not think I have ever heard a QB break down what was going on in his head sooo much in postgame interviews. It just really goes to show how analytical the guy is, whereas most QB's just say it was a bad throw or don't really need to fully explain the throw to the audience...

Agree, I'm hoping he can get to the point of just playing the game out there comfortably.

Enjoyable interview. I am again left with the impression that he finally "gets it." Here's hoping he takes the next step so that the team succeeds.
