For one they are talking about playoff TE's at first.
2nd They are talking about Kyle Shanahn's TE's.
3rd they are talking about Football Outsider's rankings which the top 4 guys are in the playoffs.
Vernon Davis despite his great season was only ranked 14th in DYAR

Quote:Which is what I've been trying to explain about this dude all year.
this gives the value of the performance on plays where this TE caught the ball, compared to a replacement-level TE in the same game situations and then translated into yardage

I wish Sing and the coaches would have gave Vernon a chance to get the TD record on the last series of plays......I know it doesn't matter, but reporters would have to acknowledge the ALL time TD holder in a single season for TEs.....right now he is just *tied*...
its like Singletary felt Vernon shouldn't get this NFL record so easy....as if he feels that if Vernon didn't get this record now....he will try even harder to try to break it next year.....as if Vernon would have no motivation next year or something..... I mean, I don't get it.....the kid was close, who knows what will happened the rest of his career (health wise)...
I don't think he will break the record next year, let alone match it again.... If we play like a playoff team next year, then we won't be in a position to have to keep passing it like we had to this year...because we put our selves in a big deficits....

No, because he's had ONE great year. He'll get his due if he's consistent in performance.
Exactly if this was another teams' player folks would be calling him a one hit wonder.

I dont think that's the reason. If it was, why is Shancoe's name in there?

If you read the article or read my post you'd know why.
