Joe cool didn't lose a superbowl and never played like Brady is in today's playoff game. There was lack of clarity and conviction on this debate a couple of years ago. No more. When the big games come, the debate is over. Joe Montana is the better QB.

I agree with you.
But Peyton > than Montana
ah good stuff, thanks for the laugh man
when people get up and stop sucking Payton's d%/$.... they will realize he was really good, but not the best.
I don't think people are sucking PEyton's d%/$. The man is in a class of his own. It's disturbing when people compare Manning and Brady. Manning runs the show, has had above average offensive line and almost always terrible defenses with a current head coach who has no business being where he's at. This year his entire team was decimated and still brought them to the playoffs with no namers. Brady on the other hand has always had an excellent offensive line, top 5 defense, and a top 3 HC of our time. Take away Adam Vinatieri's clutch kicks and the "tuck" rule what has he done. But to top this conversation off, you can't put these two in Montana's class, the man was epic, clutch, and possessed all the intangibles to be desired in a qb
Manning gets the biggest pass of all QB's when talking about his greatness than I think any other QB in history maybe other than Favre. He's great, but the way people wax poetic about this guy directing traffic at the line and all, makes me wonder why he is a less than .500 QB in the post season?
I also have heard others say that his O-line is just OK compared to Brady. So I looked it up and it shows that Manning has gotten his back dirty far less than Brady and I also looked at Big Ben for perspective, a guy who is always under pressure and getting sacked yet has a very good post season record.
In 208 starts, Manning has been sacked 231 times. (9-10 playoff rec.-1 Super Bowl)
In 145 starts, Brady has been sacked 244 times. (14-5 playoff rec.-3 Super Bowls)
In 99 starts, Roethlisberger has been sacked 274 times.(9-2 playoff rec-2 Super Bowls)
Manning has only been sacked more than 20 times in one season only 4 of his 13 years in the NFL. All other years his sack totals were in the teens with one year only being sacked 10 times. In the last 3 years, he's been sacked only 40 times. In the last 2 years, Brady has been sacked 41 times which would be much more if not for him missing all of 08-09 with the knee injury.
Peyton is great from Week 1-16 more than he is during the post season, and the post season is truly where legends and greats are born and created. For as much as Peyton is credited for being so special, that 9-10 playoff record proves he isn't as special when it matters most. And lets be real, he and the Colts weren't just sneaking into the playoffs with most of those teams. Some of those years were when the Colts had home field games and in seasons where they were one of the top teams. So therefore, he's not better than Montana and he isn't better than Brady IMO. Not to mention Manning has had some nice targets to throw to compared to Brady.
These are interesting statistics. I think part of the reason Manning is doted on is because he is a likeable guy who puts his best foot forward in representing the NFL and companies who use him to endorse products. Roethlisberger, by most accounts, is a complete ass. If he wins another Super Bowl this year, he's going to force the conversation, but I don't think a lot of people are comfortable promoting a jerk as one of the best ever. How do you polish up a guy who gets suspended for allegedly assaulting college girls?
