Well looks like he didn't get in but John Randle and Rickey Jackson both got in. I sure wish some of these guys that vote for this stuff would stop seeing it as a popularity contest and consider what this guy did to help football become what it has today.

I met Craig at a Superbowl party in 97 and the guy is a complete class act.I hope he gets in somedsay but so far it doesnt look good

With the lack of Star Players eligible next year, I am hoping that Roger can make it in.

Lack of star player next year? Deion Sanders, Marshall faulk, Jerome Bettis, Curtis Martin, and the guys this year Chris Carter, Tim Brown

No HOF for him. I still remember the fumble

I guess Jerry shouldn't make the Hall due to his Fumble in 86. Or that drop in 87

And add his fumble in the Catch II game against Green Bay, if that was called correctly the Niners would have NEVER beaten Brett Favre in a Packer uniform.

yup, Beside Deion, Marshall and Jerome there are no stars. Heck even Bettis can't be considered a star player.
Some of you have probably seen these before, but I've spoken to Roger in person about the HoF and you can read his thoughts about it all here:

Craig was awesome even with the "Fumble"

But these are his career numbers:

Rushing Yards 8,189
Average 4.1
Touchdowns 73

Those numbers aren't going to get him in the HOF...sorry

No, but 3 TDs in a Super Bowl (SB 19 against the Dolphins), 1988 NFC Offensive MVP, 1st player with 1000 / 1000 will.

First RB with 500 catches.

There was a 3 year period where Roger was the BEST RB in the league, bar none (sorry Floyd).

Based on pure rushing yards, no. But before there was Marshall Faulk, there was Roger.

Ask Gary Jeter "I'm still thinking about those knees" if Roger belongs in the Hall.

Nobody, I repeat NOBODY had the ball$ to tackle Roger at the knees back in the day.

The homer in me says he should be in the hall, but I think he he'll have a hard time getting in. Regardless of how I personally feel about Craig, he was always my favorite player, even after the fumble. People really need to stop saying that Craig reinvented the RB position. It was Bill Walsh that reinvented the RB position, not Craig. From the time Walsh took over as coach, the Niners threw to the RBs and FBs. 1979 Paul Hofer RB (58 rec) Wilbur Jackson FB (53 rec), 1980 Earl Cooper FB (83 rec) Paul Hofer (41 rec) 1981 Earl Cooper (51 rec). As I said, 49ers' RBs and FBs were targets of the pass from the time Walsh took over. Craig didn't reinvent the position, he just did what the Niners had already been doing better than everyone before him.

It takes more than single game achievements and role playing in a great system to make the HOF. I'm sorry but at this point I think Ricky Watters has a better chance to get in than Craig.
