Below is a look at 2 Contracts, recently signed for James Harrison and Bart Scott, and how they breakdown. Bart Scott: Scott, got a 6yr/$48M deal with $22M Guaranteed. 2009- $7.5M(Base) 2010- $3.6M(Base) 2011- $4.9M(Base) 2012- $5.6M(Base) 2013- $6.9M(Base) 2014- $7.75M(Base) Of, the 22M guaranteed, Scott received a $3.5M Signing Bonus, and a $10M Option Bonus in 2010. The rest is unknown of how he is receiving the remaining bonus money. NOTE: Year 6(2014) is a dummy year. James Harrison: Harrison, received a 6yr/$51.175M deal with $20M guaranteed His breakdown is as follows. Harrison, got a $10M Signing Bonus, plus a $2.555M Roster Bonus in 2009, a $2.8M reporting bonus in 2010, a $900K Roster Bonus in 2011 and 2012. If we take these two contracts, we should see how much Willis and his agent will be looking for, and by his play on the field, he is worth it. MY SOLUTION: Willis, gets a 6yr/$60M deal, with 22-25M Guaranteed and in yr 1, we give him a $10M Roster Bonus, so in future years we aren’t hampered. And I’d sign him so his deal starts in 2010, and with 50M in room, why not, we have the room and we better utililize it on Willis and others.
