Agree 100%. In 2010, no more excuses, especially for these 5:

1.) Coach Singletary
2.) Scot McCloughan
3.) Alex Smith
4.) Nate Clements
5.) Joe Staley (not convinced he's a real LT)

All of these guys need to step up big time and have a great 2010. If they do, we have a legit shot at winning our division. If they don't, we'll be watching the playoffs on tv again and these 5 f**kers need to to be replaced
.

I've always felt the same way, everyone goes nuts on Staley..he's average to me..if he wants to be great he needs to step it up big time

agree im not sold on staley

You guys might not be sold, but the the GM and Coaches are.

Well if you haven't noticed our GM is an idiot
Yup, no more excuses in 2010 and I think McCloughan, Singletary, Alex Smith and Raye are going to sink or swim together.

I guess I was thinking more "big picture" than that. But I can understand where you're coming from.

Should they beat the Rams next week and finish 8-8, I think we have to be thankful for that improvement. We can explain away a lot of the close loses, or "make excuses" as you say, but after these past 6 years I'm just happy the team could compete with virtually every opponent they faced this year.

Amen to that

Yup I was tired of getting blown out every game. I'm dissapointed but optimistic about next year.(gore 5th 1000 yard season in '10)
Barring significant injuries, which can derail even the best of teams, I really don't see how the team won't improve from 09 to 10. Clearly, management will take some kind of steps to improve O-line play and that right there I think is the key to going from 8-8 to 10-6.

I think he's a solid starter, but too many people overrate him. I wouldn't rule out a move to RT in the future.

Pass happy league?? i dont think im eating crow in 2010... remember???
Sorry to spoil the good humor 4 u, but no happy passing with u know who...
2010 will be Alex's last chance! im rooting for him but if he dont come out smokin next year i say bench his ass by week 4 and go with Nate Davis!

Sing will improve for sure considering how he was really just a rook!

McCloughan better get us a RT and a RG as well as another pass rusher and Strong safety, unless we put Dashon there and Nate at Free safety..Lastly a legit kick returner!

Jimmy Raye better have more plays with more motion and more running plays out of shotgun formation. And more balance,i was pissed he didnt even attempt to pass late in Detroit game when Detroit was obviously stacked to stop Frank!
SO YES NO MORE EXCUSES NEXT YEAR FOR THOSE 4!

Excuses will be plenty. We should get into the playoffs on consistency alone but don't expect too much out of the passing game.

yer just ASKIN fer it, aren't you!!!

It will be a tough year, we need to start beating teams like San Diego and New Orleans.

That's really not a tough schedule at all. Of any division in the AFC, I'd rather face the west!

No more excuses. Yeah sure, not until the first loss and then all the Alex lickers will start in again. Not his fault, the defensive guy jumped in front of his great pass. Not his fault he fumbled, his hands were cold. Not his fault he didn't see the open man, he wasn't looking that was. If Alex Smith turns around and does a great job next season, I will be glad to cheer him on. I just don't see it happening. Granted we could use some help at RT, but that won't change who Alex is. He has to think everything through and then it is too late to make the play. Up til now, he hasn't even shown he could be a good backup. If he was the answer, the Niners would be in the playoffs as the division champs. Didn't happen with Smith and probably never will. If he does great, wonderful. If not, absolutely no more excuses for Alex Smith.
