Building chemistry this offseason will also help reduce the number of dropped passes.
Drops are just drops a lot of reps aren't gonna stop VD from dropping the ball. Just gonna have to take the good with the bad.
VD may not have the best hands and probably never will but Crabtree does. He's been dropping passes that should be caught by a big time receiver. That will come more time/practice/reps.

Crabtree will get better, much better. Davis is Davis. What you see is what you get.

Davis needs to play some type of non-contact basketball.

1. Needs better timing wih receivers.
2. Needs to stop pressing on occasion.
3. Needs to learn to move into the passing lane rather than trying to throw the ball through linemen.

He was a little off...but again, both Crabtree and Vernon dropped passes they should catch...I counted @ 6 or so in that category. He and Crabtree have to get in synch with each other...when they do, they could be lethal. I think for the offense to succeed, we'll need Alex to throw for 200-250 range, a couple of TD's, minimize the picks and let Gore do his thing. We're still not consistent at sustaining drives...all 24 pts came off turnovers Monday night.

f**k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
last week he put the tem on his shoulders and carried them, but those b*****ds kept jumping off. he did everything he possibly could do lat week, but everyone still wants to blame him.
this week they win, but they win despite smith, we could have put a tackling dummy out there and still won.
every week it changes. this week he puts up stats, but it is about W's not stats.
next week we win but he struggled. " oh but he didn't win us the game, look at his stats."

This thread should be renamed.
How about: "Hey little Smith hater! Come here to whine! We always come up with something irrelevant!"

Most likely to throw a pick on 1st down then any other down.
LEAST likely to throw a pick on 3rd down.

Thanks for the stats.......
He did have an off night, but overall he didn't cause us to lose. I was surprised that he allowed the same D-lineman to knock his pass down after he intercepted it the first time.
All and all Alex is growing and getting better by the game. IMO he is the best QB we have right now, accuracy aside.......

However when he connected with crabtree for that touchdown, there was a 3-4 man rush with no obvious pressure, smith hit crabtree right on the target. I think the key to smith's success is giving him time and protection make him feel comfortable not rushed, then he will be at his maximum level in terms of game play and accuracy.
That's why we desperately need consistent excellency in the offensive line.
Absolutely agree!!! Given time, Alex is as dangerous as any QB in the league. (disclaimer: Receiver has to catch balls that hit them in the hand or within their reach)

It wasn't his best game , but he did make some big time throws at the end to keep the chains moving. Alex will be fine like any QB he is going to have some great games and some so so ones.

I'm just saying he was little bit off this week...thats all

.. My question is; Is Smith just not the most accurate thrower or is it a timing thing, or lack of chemistry between the WR's..

Based on the numbers he is as accurate as any 2nd tier QB and nearly as accurate as any 1st tier QB if you include the receiver drops.
